Hey guys, I've heard lots of stories of salt/sugar in the gas tank and I'm looking for a locking gas cap. NAPA sells one for my car for $18. rip off or is this about right? Where would you reccomend getting one from? Thanks!

thats for cars with gas lids that DONT lock -- the S13 has a latch, so who cares?

Well locking cover or not, if someone is going to be mad or mean enough to put crap in your gas tank I don't think they'll think twice about sticking a screwdriver or something of the like to pop the top. It's not hard, happened to an old room mates car and that was popped open w/ keys. Spend the lute for the cap, much safer. I got mines at pep boys for like $12. $18 is a little more but not bad. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure how much a locking cap should or shouldn't cost, but honestly isn't the peace of mind worth the $18? :D

they make this like 90 cent piece that will open any locking gas cap.
*shrugs*
if someone is inspired enough to pop open your gas lid they are probably gonna spring for a dollar part.

Yea but it discourages the average asshole. Most people that do it just feel like taking a screwdriver and popping open the gas tank cover. Then all they have to do is unscrew and whoala, your seirously f*cked. With the locking gas cap($12 at checkers), they might be klike, damnit! and give up. Now if you really piss someone off who knows what theyre doing, your ****ed. But usually people that do that stuff are idiots anyways.
