Hey guys,
After looking at poor fitting brackets on customers cars, we designed our own bracket that properly centers your caliper on the rotors. Also the bracket is designed so that you don't have to grind down the calipers to fit. The bracket is stainless steel for strength and anti corrosion properties. This kit comes with shortened bolts for the bracket and spindle.
This bracket will fit S13 and S14.

Evo caliper uses stock 240SX brake lines. But you will need to upgrade to the 1-1/16" Z32 brake master cylindar.
We sell the master cylindar that already has the flare fitting built in to fit the 240sx as well.

As if right now these only fit the Evo 8/9 calipers, STI and EVO X do not share the same mounting points.
All the hardware is SAE Grade 8.8

I know what you mean.... :bash:, the trouble I had to go through to make mine fit, then I found out it doesn't center on the rotor!! Grrr.. Then had to mill down the bracket to center it on my rotors.. :bash::bash::bash: So much trouble and I paid more for the brackets. Plus it didn't come with Bolts/washers.
Can the sti calipers be used also? If so I'm down!
Sell your STI calipers and get a set of Evos.. They are much much cheaper than STI calipers.. :)

+1 on the price for the BMC, will that BMC work on an S14 with factory ABS?
Also what are you running on the rear?

With our brackets you will need to use any STOCK sized Evo rotor, meaning the pads will wear evenly. You can see in the above picture (in post #19) that the whole pad is touching the rotor.

you designed these brackets???
really are you sure...
and yes mr. Li you are correct there is too little thread engagement (esp considering it is stainless and not cr/mo steel), there is far less R&D in these parts than TF is letting on, considering several people/companies have brought these to market (and some have even sold quite a few sets and have gotten rave reviews!!!)

Yes, we did design the brackets from scratch. We found few of the brackets that were made didn't center the calipers to the rotors or had fitment issues. Not sure what you're trying to get at but there's only so much you can change on these brackets because of the fitment and mounting points.
We did test the brackets on our cars and have not had any problems.
Thanks!

are you even going to try and address your potential customers concerns of minimal thread engagement, or the request for material type?
and from scratch would suggest you came up with and executed the idea yourself...but you already admitted this was in response to "poor fitting" brackets on others cars, so we know you had atleast one set of someone else's brackets in your hands before you started "from scratch"
I'm just trying to keep things honest here,

Sobay>> Here's a simulation test we did for our brackets before we even tested on the car. We used a chassis weight of 2700lbs, braking force of 1.5G's, which is what most of the cars will see with race compound tires at a race track.
You can see from the stress and displacement test that the minimal thread area you're concerned about does not see much stress, hence we were able to design it that way.
As for the material, unless your car is pulling close to 5G's during braking, our bracket will not distort or deform.

Yes. F1 car will achieve close to 2.5 g's during braking. Unless your car can somehow achieve over 5 g's during braking you'll be fine :)

You guys should get a new engineer to do your stress analysis. The loading on that bracket is wrong to say the least. Unless somehow you have a caliper loading a bracket outwards on both holes (which doesn't happen in the real world). I think you'll find one of those "notches" is very highly loaded with proper stress applied.
You are also using bargain basement hardware store bolts (Class 8.8, there is no such thing as SAE Grade 8.8, nevermind that SAE ratings don't apply to metric bolts...). I might suggest if you don't know what to use, you at least look at what the factory uses in both cases as a baseline (hint, it's not Class 8.8).

How are you determining where we defined the constraints?
The deformation is exaggerated in this software, picture is obviously not a good representation of what is actually happening. The holes are stretched to the right in this analysis because we are doing a clockwise rotation force to imitate the actual load of a brake rotor.
We never said SAE 8.8?? We're aware of it. Unfortunately for the size, thread pitch and length we need, 10.9 is not available. We're working on making custom bolts made in the future. Tensile strength is 120,000psi vs 150,000psi. It's not as drastic as make it sound. We did test the brackets for this reason before we sold them.
Thanks

Hey TF i had 2 questions for you. Or you guys.
Will the bolts and washers that come with this adapter replace the bolts and washers that come with the EVO calipers? As in, will the original ones no longer be neccessary and will just get tossed?
Its' kind of an obvious answer but i just want to make sure because one of my EVO Brembo calipers is missing both bolts and washers.
Also how much for the adapter and BMC shipped to 85746? For an S13

A 17x8 +30 could work, but it really depends on the spoke design of the wheel.
