burning oil

last night i put some oil in my car because it needed it.After as soon as i started to drive the car started to smoke from the exhaust. I its because i put the oil in the car while it was still hot. But i let cool down after and its still doing the same thing. What could the problem be? Should i get a tune up? Please help me out.

what color smoke? if its white its propably the headgasket..
