View Full Version : Greddy DD + silencers = still too loud for na?

Not the same DD question:

On phase2 they mention the Greddy DD includes silencers

Does anyone know if WITH these silencers the DD is still too loud for NA use?

I will go turbo later on... I run my turbo sw20 with no muffler and the noise level is acceptible.

its VERY loud
my friend had it on NA s14 w/ silencers, i could still hear him downshift on the freeway w/ my car windows up and 3 cars back

on s13 is loud too, but i've only heard it on turbo s13

Is that a "cool" loud....or an "obnoxious" loud?

I keep contemplating the idea of a single straigt pipe from downpipe back (no cat) with a glass pack, and a tip welded on like on the DD.. THAT would be loud. But race only...

Thats essentially what suppertrapp mufflers where designed for. Muffle them while on the street, and remove all that crap for the track.

I have the DD on my SR'd s13, and it's too loud for my liking.

I've run with and without.
With silencers, there's no point, it totally defeats the purpose. I can actually feel my car bog with them in. The silencers are big, heavy and if you look at the pipe diameter, it's like 1.75-2"... it's tiny by comparison.

I'd say that if volume is any kind of issue for you, look elsewhere.

Let me tell you this. If you ran with no exhuast it would not be any louder
