Looking for a Boost gauge for my relativly new SR, because I'm pretty confident it's not running at full boost, and besides its always a good thing to have, to make sure I'm not overboosting for some crazy reason right? Well I'n specific I'm looking at the Autometer Cobalt 6159.. But after calling around and getting prices of $300-$400 Cdn, I'm a little amazed? Why does something almost a simple as a pressure gauge go for that much money!!?!!? I noticed the ones with boost only were a little cheaper.. Is there any advantage to having a vac/boost gauge instead of just boost? And is it worth the money??

Thx,

James

the Autometer Cobalt series are not basic gauges, they are more like the GReddy, Apex EL series, etc, they have a separate unit for memory, etc that actually stores info

yeah electronic gauges cost out the wazoo...

... my mechanical AutoMeter SportComp vac/boost gauge cost me $55 and it works fine

Having a guage with vacuum will be helpful in detecting any leaks... ;)
