V1 got ripped off with Clifford alarm

Now I'm driving blind. I'm so pissed. This morning when I hit my key fob I locked the car instead of unlocked it. I must have forgotten to lock it last night, but I'm not sure 'cus I always lock it. Its an unlikely coincidence that I would get ripped off on the same night I forgot to lock it. My V1 radar detector was stolen, but nothing else. They left a pair of Oakley sunglasses, 3 CDs, and a DVM. Could they have somehow duplicated the signal to deactivate my Clifford alarm and unlock the door? I saw that on Gone in 60 Seconds. I noticed some damage to the molding at the passenger side window, but I'm not sure its new 'cus I've only had the car a month. A slim jim would have activated the alarm and woken me up. I'm worried about getting another V1, and having it ripped off again. Does anyone have any thoughts on how the theives got in, assuming I really did lock the car?

Even if you locked it its to ez to get into 240's. It sounds like you just left it unlocked and the neighborhood teens snuck out at night and went car to car looking for goodies. If it was someone who had a alarm cracker or whatever you're thinking then your car would have been swiped or all your items would have been stolen.

Consider yourself lucky they took the V1, that thing is a annoyance and POS.

What experience has caused you to give a poor evaluation of the V1? Can you reccomend a better radar detector?

you must have it in the wrong mode, mine only goes off for police and it has saved my ass plenty in northern va, i wouldnt recomend anything else

Sure it might pickup the po po's. But it picks up EVERYTHING else. The thing sounds worth then drunken Olsen twins riding in your backseat. Id rather waste my $300 on Happy Meals.

Yea, I left it unlocked. I talked to my girlfriend and she said they went through her car too but didn't take anything. She's hotter than the Olsen twins, but won't fit in the backseat. I'll buy her a happy meal, and I think I'll still have enough money left over for a new V1. I need to be more careful about locking my door. At least I learned this lesson before buying the boost controller and turbo timer.

My clifford has a setting that automaticly locks the doors if the key isnt in the ignition for 30 secs. Just have to make sure the door is fully closed and have to make sure I dont leave the keys in the car (but not in the ignition) because it could auto-lock the keys in.

my car was stolen 2 weeks ago too, they just shoved a screwdriver into my ignition....not hard to steal at all....total loss....
