Why didn't you use the factory horn wire?

just run the hot wire to the battery with an inline fuse, then the horn will work no matter what.

it didnt have a horn wire by the hub so i tapped into the green and white neg horn wire in the colum but i will try the battery next, so what im trying to accomplish here is i have one wire going from button to negative horn wire and another wire going to fuse then battery? im gonna insert foot into mouth once i realize im making a project outta this lol ... :duh:

if you bought a fixer upper and cant wire a horn, then best of luck to you.

next lets go through clutch bleeding and maybe start a wheel fitment thread. sorry

btw every fuse is supposed to have power with ignition on....

it is the swich that is next in line to make whatever it is come on. you wired your horn to the turn of the key.

The stock S13 setup runs the green/whatever color stripe (dont remember off the top of my head) wire run from the steering wheel through the driver side fender well to the relay in the dr side relay box. from the relay the wire then splits into two wires, one for each horn. That may help you track it down and get it closer to stock if thats what youre wanting.

If you dont care about wiring it like stock, then someone above said it. Either find a switched fuse that is hot in the Run position or wire it to the battery and use the horn button to complete the ground for the horn circuit.

Ok, since I have the harness out to strip all the unneeded junk I snapped a couple of pics for you.

The horn relay has 3 pins, diagram on cap shown below.

The wire layout on the receptacle for the relay is shown below.

The wire on the left is green/white and goes to the horn fuse in the relay box on the passenger side of the engine bay.

The wire on the right is green/black and goes to the SMJ connector on the driver side under the dash and then to the horn button.

The wire in the center is solid green and splits then runs to each horn plug.

Hope that helps.
