Meets are meets without drives! If a meet doesn't include a "drive" (and it's better that way), people can still go driving afterward. It just technically won't be part of the meet. It's not good to make going for a drive part of the meet cuz that's like saying 30-40 cars will all go for a drive together. That's no good, unless we're driving on a big open freeway (whee... fun... -_-).

I wasn't 21 when the last meet there was held, and I forgot how I got in, but I think I was sponsored by someone who was 21. There was plenty of people in the restaurant tho. But it's not like that's the only place to eat. We can always order some pizza and have it delivered at the parking lot :D :D

The cops can harass us at great mall because it is private property. We arent allowed to have gatherings. The best way to get away with it is to have the meet on the second floor of the parking grage- no camera's, will take the security longer to find out about us. Usually once security findsout that we are gathering, then they call the cops and to tell us to dispers.

So i say we should have the backup spot as Q-cup on Dixonlanding. We wont get kicked out, they like it that meets are held thier, as long as majority buy's one drink from them. so bring 3 or 4 dollars to buy a drink if nessasary.

i've been to meets that used the 2nd floor of the Garage before..it was perfect..enough for 30-40 cars easily..and no one to hassel you becuase you're not in the most visible area...all they really care about is image anyway..so if we stay out of sight for the most part no one will hassel us..

the 2nd floor and the front of D&B are pretty much the same place, one is just in a multi-level garage right next to the front of D&B which has ground floor parking, so people shouldn't worry too much..plus i imagine after the first couple of cars show up it'll just kinda work itself out..so i don't think there is any need to stress it...

if you are the first car...just keep a look out for more 240's, or others who look like enthusiasts, and find a place where multiple cars can park...then just flag others down..:)


as for the person who asked for directions...just use mapquest...easiest and most reliable..

but in case you are lazy like me..lol..

GreatMall is located in the Silicon Valley in Milpitas at the Intersection of Montague Expressway and Great Mall Parkway between highways 680 and 880.

From 880
Take the Great Mall Parkway exit and proceed east, the mall will be on your left side.

From 680
Take Montague Expressway exit and proceed west, pass through two stop lights and the mall will be on the right side after you pass over the train tracks.

From 237 East
Take 880 south, exit Great Mall Parkway, head east, the mall will be on your left side.

Coming South on 101

Don't quote me on that if you get pulled over though. :P (As you can imagine, paper-thin sheets of metal will do little to nothing as far as protecting someone in a collision... the only part that matters is the metal support)

I have driven long distances numerous times with no hood / no fenders / one fender / no bumper cover / etc

Dunno, could be anything from like 10 to 50... :P

Biggest meet I ever went to was like... 35 cars or so... (not counting convention :P)

A lot of people don't announce that they are going, they just show up (and some bring friends) so its not really like a head count will do much good.

Also, as mentioned earlier, if we get kicked out we meet @ Q-Cup on Milpitas Blvd (?; I think thats where it is)

You just gotta go up to people and talk to them, say hi. What have you done to your car..blah blah. Think of it this way, the car meet is just a really easy way to get a bunch of people with similar intrests together to meet up. You shouldn't worry about meeting people like that, everyones friendly.


Otherwise, the meet was awesome. I counted a total of 54 cars before we got broken up at D+B. There were maybe 5-8 cars which were not 240's but thats about it. All in all a great turn out and alot of fun to finally meet some of you new guys.

It was a nice meet, a few rx7's 3-4 510's few z's and some other cars, all in all it was a nice turnout despite the fact that cops kicked us out of the parking lot. We should keep up with the meets and plan a big one for the spring. it was nice to see other enthusiast and make new friends hope to see more people at the next one

Pretty good turnout i'd say. D&B was ok...nice fast and furious exit from there when all the cops showed up. Hahaha. I was surprised that the biker cops that showed up at best buy were pretty damn cool about the whole thing. I had to call in sick for work today for this meet. lol. We gotta organize some type of event again.

It was neat seeing Zilvia people in person. Or at least their cars. So NZO is the guy with the white S14 Silvia? Awesome. =) I'm guessing the S13 Silvia front without the bumper and fenders was nokeone's. That panda looked familiar. Also nice to see some familiar cars from previous meets and sad to not see some cars knowing that it's because they've crashed, or moved or whatnot. Sucks.

Some of the regulars didn't show up but wow man there were a lot of new people. I didn't meet any though ... haha. Well I met one, actually, and got a FSM for my car. (He has no use for it anymore.) I'm still hella happy about that. ^_^ Cool guy.

Also discovered a pretty decent small restaurant, went to places where you could view the Golden Gate Bridge and half the Bay Area, and took pics of Mike pissng. (Took pics of other stuff too. Not stupid stuff. O_o) Had a pretty fun day. I'll upload my pics later. Didn't take pics of the meet itself this time, cuz what happens after meets is always more fun.

And oh yeah, speaking of pics, BJ I want that pic of me, Mike, and Anthony getting "busted". =P

Were did the rest of you guys go. I had a red stock looking S13. I told everyone to head over to McArthy Ranch. At first only about 7 or 8 cars followed me there,:bash: but I'm guessing after the cops rolled through at D&B that's when more peeps headed our way. I think there was a good 20 to 30 cars that took off to McArthy Ranch with us. It was kewl nobody came by to break us up and everyone head their choice of places to crub and get drinks. I ended up taking off from there around 3pm.

How long did everyone end up staying at McArthy Ranch after that?

We should hold the meets there. Security never messes with anyone cause they don't care. Man on Saturday some mustang krew was chillin there with bbq grills and all.

Next time lets do it there from the get go.:hammer:

No offense but its pretty ignorant to expect 50+ cars to go on a drive at anything above 10mph. If you want to drive hard, get a small group together and do it yourself. As you can see more than a few of us did this after the meet. Meets are for looking at cars and talking. If you want to crash, do that on your own time. People showed up. No one was talking. I went around and looked at the tight cars(props to everyone for their rides) Then i figured this was it. It was a little boring. And where was the guy with the sodas?!? I was thirsty! Hey guys i didnt mean it to be totally demeaning, it was just my opinion of the meet. The dented fenders and stripped interior thing was a joke, and i also make controlled mountain passes all the time. I havent's yet crashed a car in 5 1/2 years of driving muscle cars and sportscars..knock on wood. I dont know why you assume i crash my car. So YOU go crash YOUR car on YOUR own time. And dont do it on the next meet when we go driving.

You know what? The cops were already turning into the lot as we left (In fact, I shifted right in front of them at a good 40MPH -- Over the speed limit AND loud-ass "ppsht") and they didn't even waste their time pulling me over. And I was the last one out of the lot to boot (which means they obviously must've seen us coming a mile away)

If the cops came, it wasn't cus of me. And given that they didn't bother pulling me over I don't think they cared that much. (Later on, those of us who went to Golfland ended up at Q-Cup and spoke to a guy that organizes SRO meets -- he told us that there's actually a few bike cops in the area that are cool with the meets, which is prolly why they didn't trip)

Frankly it wasn't the most intelligent thing I've done but I'm not gonna make excuses for it. :cry:

Did you not look around? Mismatched panels, dents everyone, people with no fenders/bumpers/primer everything/broke-this-broke-that... show cars? I didn't see anything that could come close to being called a "show car." (Except for maybe one of the dimes, and even that is stretching it)

Uhh we've been on drives several times, and the worst that has happened was one guy (from Frisco, I know him name but it escapes me at the moment) went into the side of a hill for whatever reason (go look at the BBQ thread)

Then again we weren't driving that "hard" seeing that there was like 20 or so cars on a two-way, two-lane PUBLIC HIGHWAY at like two in the afternoon...

all in all the meet was just that, A meet. This wasn't some kind of get together for a race up some random hwy...there were some nice cars and some bad cars but you know what everyone starts somewhere. So for those that thought it was lame and what not then go find some other group to drive with. Or start your own meet! Dont get all butt hurt cause we didn't go on some high speed run so that you could show off your skills. It was nice meeting some ppl that i only talk to on aim and it was coo seeing old friends. Oh yea and props out to lloyd(demented) for driving over a hour i think to show up to this meet.

I think that although Kazuo was being a little harsh, I do see his point. You just have to understand that a lot of the people at the meet make driving a big part of thier lives...it's not about show at all for most of us. If you wanted to see a stripped car you should have come checked mine out. It ws the hatch s13 that was primered.

We had a drive after the BBQ I threw last month...I think there were like 15 cars...you could NOT do anymore than that.

If you really want to drive you should just go out with your friends...otherwise it's just to many people to keep track of.

Sorry to see that you didn't have a better time at the meet.

Hey did anyone catch one of the officers stall on his bike and try to play it off? ahahaha I know me and NZO did. The officer started up his bike and all of a sudden....chhh and it was off and he started looking around smiling to see if anyone saw him.....haha boy that made my day!

i know, it's unfair that only me, Danio, and Mike are the only ones that got busted! maybe cuz we were examining the cop's bike too much :D . and ya Daniel (transformer) I caught the other cop stall too, what a doof! We skipped out when the cops left to do some canyon runs too. I was expecting some of you guys there to do the same, since the bay area is full of windy backroads.

I think it was a pretty good meet. Lots of S13's! Too bad we couldn't get a decent pic of the whole lot of us. We need to get organized some more.

So, is anyone from the bay area up for the Sac meet? It's gonna be a potluck/bbq. It's on the 12th, this Sunday, so be there! I'm bringin food. oOps ahah that was sorta on me. But I just thought there was too many cars for just me to gather up in groups(s13, s14, datsuns, etc) for a good pic. It would have been a nice pic though.

Hey everyone. I started a tread called "Grant Ranch Meet" It's in San Jose. That would be a really good drive and we could throw a BBQ at grant ranch. I'll bring some drinks and some hot dogs and chips and stuff. Just let me know what you guys think. Look for the thread.

Grant Ranch has a small parking lot, and hardly any shade. i think lake cunningham would be cool. the roads near grant ranch is fun to drive, but only with a small group.
