It sound like you got the cam timing off.

I have these cams on my ka24de-(T). I've been asking around if i need to degree these cams and BC claims that its not required, but doesn't answer my question. I know someones gotta know.

OK. Asked the same question before, found out, and here's what I did:

1. You have to find out first what the degree specs are of your cams. I have BC 264's myself and I don't remember them but I found out the specs online or now that I remember, it is on the cam spec sheet that came with the cams.

2. You have to find out where your degree specs are currently on your set up. Again you have to research online on how to do this. It's not easy but not rocket science either. You will need to have a degree wheel and dial indicator among other things.

3. Once you determine 1 and 2, adjust your cam timing to 1 if there is a difference.

4. A run of BC cams were retarded which requires that you degree the cams to set to factory specs. I'm sure mine was part of that run because they were retarded by around 4 degrees the effect of which was I had more lag than I should have. There is an article on one of the Australian websites that talk about this.

5. Good luck and if your cam timing is retarded as mine was, your powerband will be better once you get it adjusted right. The power will come in earlier rather than later as designed.
