i've had two S13's with redtop in them and they both seems to squeal somewhat, on and off from alternator area or maybe the belt area...
any ideas???
one i have now doesnt squeal as much but only when i start the car for a short moment...

my S13 runs really strong w/ just a minimal boost leakage.. thats about it..

would appreciate any tips.
thx-

jesus.
if you can't diagnose a simple squealing belt, maybe you shouldn't have an SR.. i mean.. that's BASIC engine maintenance.

edit:
get belt dressing, new belts or check the deflection (measure of proper/improper tightness)

my prior S13 was fixed just by tighten the alternator bolt..
this current one, i havent taken time to look at.

note.. i was only seeking for tips not any rude commentation.
No need to overexagerate..
but i appreciate for taking time to read my post.

I can see you feel, man... people takes the time to read and follow threads and sometimes that makes them feel like they are doing you a favor and post smart remarks....instead of actually helping.

There is a few others in this group.....:bash:

Are you stupid, or are you just trying to be an asshole?
I TOLD HIM WHAT TO DO. that edit was about 3 minutes after i'd posted originally.
If anybody is NOT helping here, it's you! You're just sitting there bitching instead of throwing in your .02 on matter.

Aaron: I'll hold your hand.. ;)

He was only implying that you made a "smart Remark," (jesus.

1121S13, sounds like the belt is wearing out, it'll squeal at start and go away, that's the belt.

Easy and cheap fix.

Don't mind mrmephistopheles, he is bleeding ... YA know .. that time of the month !
BOYA .. may the STRONG HAND be with you

and did it fix the problem?

or are you saying the belt has previously been replaced and the noise is still there?..if this is the case then it may be too tight..this can cause squeeling as well..

Check the deflection before replacing the belts. It's probably just tightened wrong. The words may have come from between two buttCHEEKS but he did give the RIGHT info. Everyone is so touchy theese days.

So you aren't alone.;)
