Alright guys I have searched on here with no luck.
I have a s14 and I am going to a drift event where a fire extinguisher is mandatory, while I could just zip tie it for the event somewhere; I would like to keep it in the car (might as well, shit happens and why not since I own it?)
so I would like to know where you guys mounted it and pictures would be awesome..

Thank you

ps. once I buy mine and mount it I will post pics on here

usually I see them mounted on the floor behind the driver/passenger seats or if you have a roll cage that is a common place.

Roll cage is out of question at this point.
The rules say it has to be accessible for the driver, the rear counts as accessible?

Mainly depends on your car, is it fully gutted, does it have a passenger seat, do you have a bucket seat with proper harnesses, more info is definitely necessary at least a pic would be good enough to give us reference on how your car is setup interior wise, there is a few choice details missing.

Behind the passenger seat on the floor.

Winner winner, chicken dinner. Even if you have a guy with the seat all of the way back and tilted, it won't interfere.

touche, sorry.
its a completely stock interior from a S14 base model. it has a boost gauge and that's it.

Is your extenquisher loose or did it come with a bracket?

Personally I would say closest to the driver as possible as you will most likely be the guy grabbing for it in the "heat" of the moment.

Just saying.

Alright guys, thanks for all of the responses, and ideas; this is what I eneded up doing.
that way I can reach it fairly easy, and I can leave it there for every day driving.

Nice. Mine is quite similar, but I think pgp's requirements were at least a five pound extinguisher. Correct me if wrong, but that looks like a 4. Where'd you get your mount btw?

My dad's car had it mounted in front of the passenger seat so it was under the passenger's legs (whenever there was one).

I'm NOT a fan of them on the passenger tranny tunnel mount...I'd be more concerned with a passenger accidentally setting off than anything. Plus it gets in the way there (limited room as it is). Not saying it's wrong, just my personal opinion.

Home Depot/Lowes/Walmart all carry these type of 'emergency' extinguishers, all usually at a good price. I know for a fact walmart has the A-B-C ones very cheap, as we resell them to trucks that need them.

I agree with you on that, I am concerned that someone will set it off; I hope it doesnt happen but I can reach it quickly and easily so I think that is the best position for it.

this.. I just picked the one that had the Fluid/wiring capabilities. Which is all that can burn in that thing to the best of my knowledge

I doubt they will give me shit for it. It is mounted accessible and I don't think they will get that specific; and if they do I will find someone to shift the blame (like someone who ziptied theirs haha jk jk)

some people are quiet dumb. Your extinguisher should be within hand ready from your driverseat to pass tech atleast by me. When your car is on fire the last thing you want to be doing is reaching behind seats or running over to the passenger side opening the door and grabbing it. Put it on the floor right infront of your seat running verticle on the floor. Im short 5'5 sit close and still it clears my legs so taller people will have plenty of room.

When I got the extinguisher in my hand and was about to mount it I tried to put it in front of me like you are saying. This particular one is too long and would hit the lump for clearing the transmission.
While i agree with you that would ber the best position; you would still have to lean forward to grab it, i feel that leaning to the side would be about the same. Especially if you are wearing a harness, at that point its a matter of how quickly you can un buckle yourself from it.

i kind of agree with you...just as long as you aren't laying across the car to try and get hah oh and people who ziptie it are dumb...how are you supposed to get it if its ziptied to the car hah

That looks great but my car is not RHD like yours. and on the passenger side there is that big lump on the floor to clear the tranny (maybe this is s14 only?)

yea, now that I own one and have it installed in my car I don't have a good reason to take it out. Plus if my car caught on fire and I didn't have the extinguisher there I would never forgive myself. I have wayy too much time and money in to this car (and I have only owned it for like 5 months)
