Im finding second hand Power FC's on ebay with out commanders. Are these still tunable by my tuner? Or do I still need to order a commander to use the ecu. I have no plans on personally messing with it as I have no actual tuning experience. But I do have access to some great local tuners.

I am pretty sure you can get a cable that hooks to your labtop.

No, you don't need the commander. All you need is the ECM. The tuner will (should) have the Dataloggit and software. But, I still recommend getting a commander so you can monitor water temp and knock and retard timing due to a high knock count down the road.

Most tuners require you to bring the software, and data cable. So I would buy the software and data cable first and buy the commander later down the road to monitor everything like said above.

The commander is a very useful tool. I would think about getting one if you get the power FC without one.

Where is the best place to get the software and cable at?

Same place you got the PowerFC...
FC Datalogit for Power FC Datalogger Meter (http://www.frsport.com/FC-Datalogit-for-Power-FC-Datalogger-Meter_p_8528.html)
FC Datalogit - Tuning Software for your APEXi Power FC (http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz/)
I would still get the Commander to go with it. For the monitor reasons stated above and you don't know what funky settings will be on that used Power FC. Easy to reset it back to stock and re-learn your cars idle and ect.
