Hi,
just installed my 044 on my S14 and now i need to run a relay for it. On the top of the fuel tank cover there is 2x connectors :
connector that wire the fuel pump (i think power 12V and -) (2 wires)
connector with 3 wires :
a- go to fuel level float thingy.
b- ???
c- ???
IIRC there should be a wire from the ECU goes to the FP to prime.
So i have 2 Q :
what does the remaining 2 wires do ?
if i want to wire the FP with relay and a fuse i should cut the wires going to the FP and wire them to my battery direct. and the mystery 2 wires will get signal from the ecu to the FP?
PS
searched and looked in FSM and can't find it (any 1 know the page on the FSM?

Ok I'm not sure what you are trying to do...
The 2 wire connector is for powering the fuel pump with 12V from a relay under the hood.
The 3 wire connector is for the Fuel float and go directly to the gauge cluster:
Pins 1 and 3 read the resistance of the float depending on the level of fuel
Pin 2 is just a signal wire that turns on the little warning light when you are almost out of gas.

nice,
i'm used to Toyota supra fuel "ecu" which trigger the ecu and increase PIS with boost. so now i'll run a power line direct to the FP + realy,
thx dude.

IF you're going to be running that pump (or any aftermarket pump) it may be worthwhile to hard wire it to the battery, and then use the factory signal wire to the pump (yellow black iirc, but it may be black puprle I forget) to trigger a seperate relay that turns the pump on.
As with most older japaense stuff, the wire in the car and the output simply don't always produce desired voltage to the pump, especially at higher RPM. I assume with you running such a large pump, that you're going to be turning some HP...you want all the fuel you can get.

Yes,
8 gauge wire (IIRC) with inline fuse and 40 amp relay. thx dude.

Yea man that's the only way to fly. If it was a stockish setup, then I wouldn't bother...but you don't see many around here with 044 pumps, so it's pretty easy to assume you're gonna make some power :D
