well because recently the last 2 meets were great and seems like a lot of ppl r interested, we should disucss future ideas on where and what we could do next. It seems like having a bbq is really workin out and then goin out for a drive. If anyone has ideas just post away

but yeah..Santa Cruz was my first suggestion too...but not HWY 9..too crowded...i know some much better, more fun, and less traveled roads then HWY 9 in Santa Cruz...

in Fremont we could meet and BBQ and everything at Fremont Central Park near Lake Elizabeth...super chill and mellow area...always lots of parking and it's free...

only problem is i think it lacks a place to cruise afterwards..or at least i know of none..:shrug:

Price will vary depending on what deal we can get (how many people can come) how long we want to drive, what time we drive.

I know they have a 60 dollar all you can drive deal on weekdays, its almost more driving than you can physically handle....ALMOST haha. (4+ hours)

I worked out costs for the 55 all you can drive at speedring, comes to 16 cents a lap or so. Great deal considering you dont have to do anything but show up and drive.

Hey you cant blame me for assuming that..last time i tried to set up a meet on craigslist and a bunch of irresponsible posers showed up. The guy behind me flipped his car into a ditch. Im giving up on setting up meets but id enjoy participating in this one.

And you know what nevermind what i said cause driving in the mountains before dark is a waste of time to me anyways.:wackit: The BBQ and kart racing sounds like fun. I think #3 MALIBU sounds good. I go to Malibu so i'd vote #3 assuming you're still taking votes. It's $3.50 per lap(they also sell package deals) but only one car at a time. Speedring is fun but expensive. 16 cents a lap in fremont sounds like a deal. Parking shouldnt be a big issue at Malibu if thats where it ends up. Plus they got INITIAL D at the Castle right next door.

I'm sure many of you guys love touge as much as I do. Let's keep those roads Ricers-free and cops-free as much as possible by not pointing them out online. Exceptions can be Hwy 9 and Mt Hamilton because unfortunately EVERYONE knows about them already. It's sad that Mt Hamilton now has stupid groups of Ricers hanging out there at night because of people mentioning that location so much online. I hate driving up there and seeing a row of Civics and Integras parked on the side, with kids just standing around. It wasn't like that a year ago. If you discover a good road, great. I think it'd be best to keep it to yourself, or mention it to your close friends by word of mouth. I have nothing against telling friends about good roads to drive on but posting online makes those roads too popular too fast. That's the reason I never made "go for a drive" an official part of any 240SX meet. People who want to go driving in mountains after a meet can do that. People who didn't even think about it don't have to know about it. Anyone agree, or am I just being selfish?

Edit: Oh ya, forgot to mention... The reason I mentioned this is cuz those pics of those hairpins have the URL to a web site that points out a bunch of good roads. It's totally your decision if you want everyone to know the good places to drive, and it is a public web site for everyone, but personally I would remove those pics and just let certain people know that site. o_o

Well my car's pretty much running fine now. Just leaking a bit of oil, and occasionally stalling at idle. *sigh* I miss my S14.

Redwood City's fine with me. (Hopefully I can make it to this one.) Malibu... I dunno. Never drove at Malibu but looks kinda sucky to me. Is this gonna be a big meet or small meet?

I know THE BEST road that happens to be in redwood city. The only problem is it's not worth driving there unless you wanna go really slow and hang out with motorcycle riders at the destination. We can see some cool bikes on a Saturday. Too much traffic to have any real fun.

If you post on the mailing list and various 240SX forums (which is what I usually do for meets), you can expect probably around 30 to 40 cars. I kinda have this feeling that Malibu officials won't like us taking up so many parking spots.

Late people won't know where everyone else went. October 5 is more than two weeks away. We can still decide on a new place.

Last year in August there were two 240SX meets at D&B's parking lot. The first one (not set up by me) ended after 30 minutes because police kicked them out. The second one went very well. I don't know what happened at the first one but some people said they weren't messing around or anything but got kicked out anyway. Most car meets seem to do fine there though.

I haven't been to the Great Mall on a Sunday lately. Does anyone know for sure that there'll be room at D&B's parking lot?

What happened at the D&B meet before the first official NorCal one was that the dumbass(es) who organized it told the cops.

So they were there waiting to break it up. woot.

I guess cus it was on a friday (?) and there were some runs goin down afterwards... so he wanted to make sure the cops understood they wreen't part of the groups heading out to the runs (even though a lot of them had planned to do so)
