i am planning to get these used 17x7.5 volk wheels but the off set is either +40 or +43... I am not too sure. What kind of spacer will i need for front and rear? Also, are there any disadvantages for using spacers?
thanx in advance for the help.

well what are you planning on doing? do you want the rims flush with the fenders? do you want coilovers?do you want z-brake upgrade? what volks are you going with exactly??

The volk i am talkin about are the LE28n. i just want them to clear the z brakes and not rub anything.

thats an extremely terrible offset/width combination...
your gonna have to get like a 20mm spacer to cut that offset in half!, hell go with a 30mm to accomadate for the skinny 7.5 width!
if you put these rims on your S14, you will have extreme sunken look...imagine lowering your car on stock rims, which are a bit narrower, but the offset is around that high....
do you have a base model or SE because they have +25 and +33 in both 4x114 and 5x114
here is a link to the sizes
