Caravan to Buttonwillow from Santa Cruz / Bay Area / Nor Cal

hey all

just wanted to post somethin up to see who would like to get a little caravan going to the event, on September 19th, at Buttonwillow Raceway Park...

i am planning to leave Santa Cruz at approx 7pm on Thursday night...(i will assume Scott and Nic will be with me..:))

this would put us at the Garlic Shoppe where the 101 and the 25 interchange at approx 7:30-7:40pm..

this is a very good place to meet for those coming from Seaside, Monterey, San Jose, San Francisco, or Oakland...

because from here it is only about 15 min to the middle of the 152 which will take us to the 5 which leads to Buttonwillow...

this is of course assuming most people would rather not have to drive over to Santa Cruz, and then back east in the direction of the 5...but anyone who wants to just come to Santa Cruz first is welcome...

also those coming from the Sacramento area, or anywhere close to the 5, we will be arriving at the 5 and the 152 interchange at approx 8:15-8:25pm...

and this puts us at Buttonwillow at approx 10:15-10:30pm...

Im leaving 2AM Friday to get there by 7AM. I have drivers for my truck. I can sleep on the back. hahaah

scott is actually chillin with me right now and he says he'll save the seat for you...(between you and me, i don't think there is much competition for it..lol..:p)..

ehhh... When I head out to Buttonwillow I always leave 2-3 AM. Going 80-90 with my Suburban is like towing nothing hhehehhe.

well thanks anyways scott and noah but i cant go,my managers are acting like a**clowns and theres no way i can get those days off,but on the bright side i might be buyin a 86 coupe IF it cost too much to get my car fixed,but the next one i will be there FOR SURE.......:cool:

I second that! I got 90 miles on the track and wasn't even on the track half of the time, and we left an hour early.

If my inner tie rod was in a little better shape I would probably be out there most of the time. It sucks that I didnt get much seat time that I would like to but it was good enough sideways.

wherd, i agree definatly. that was one of the dopest events i have ever been to. i had a lot of "PASSANGER" seat time thanks to al,noah and nick!!!and got some dope footage so watch for me at the next event!! should have a couple dvd cd's to give out!!!

Theres always shiet happening to my car but I don't let it get to me cause I know I can replace those little things tomorrow but drift all day with less than 20 cars = Priceless.

I think I put up maybe over 180 miles on the track.. sorry :( I was really surprised these 'Rayspestos' pads lasted for the ~50 minute session I did at the end of the day.
..then, maybe that just means the car is grossly underpowered :(

Got 13mpg on that 'track tank', stock SOHC.. whooo!

and i think we ALL look a little cracked out in that picture...

then again, we did get there at like 4:30am friday morning after a 3 hour drive...sleep till 6:45am and then drift ALL day...and this picture was taken at like 3:30pm...i think we are entitled to a few bad pics..:D
