Hey guys, im pretty new at this stuff but have had some experience but not enough to tackle some new challenges that have came my way. Recently I was approached with a golden opportunity to do some composite work for a race team. I was asked to make one of a kind fender flares for the rear, wider but oem looking front fenders, and a rear bumper for an rx-8. My question is what kinds of methods would be best for each part, particularly the rear bumper. Not only that but I'm wondering if anyone has had success making a vacuum unit from parts available at local hardware stores for the bagging process.
I didn't know where to put this topic and I thought "tech" would be best place but please re-direct me if im wrong.
Here are some topics I wouldn't mind addressing either:
- epoxy vs polyurethane
- floral foam for mold making/initial shaping
- specific combinations of products that have yielded good results for you personally.
**I'm sure this thread can be rather enlightening and engaging.**
