There will be a Drift Event at the Virginia International Raceway in Danville Va. If anybody is going to be there, please, please, please, email me. My email is
[email protected] I am going to be one of the 5 drivers at this event. Anyway, if you will be there and you have a video camera please email me, so i can ask you personally for a favor. hopfully this will be a great time. Mike DeFord from hyperfest worked hard to put this together at the last minute and he will be there having a good time with everyone who will show up. If nobody knows about this here is a link. its also on www.USDrift.com

What's actually going on at VIR on Oct 3-5th (http://www.virclub.com/pages/eventInfo03/grandAm03.htm)
If you read the bottom of the flyer, it says "Watch them get silly all weekend at lunch on the new Patriot course." Now I'm not driving down there and paying $20 to watch an hour of drifting. Ben (Drifta) can you shed some more light on the subject. Are you guys going to be drifting all day or just at certain times? Is the track you're drifting on separate from the Road Race track? Is there an open session for anyone to drive?

You are right there is no open track time. But you are missing the point. Mike is trying to get more tracks to allow us to drift on there courses. Meaning more drift and track time for everybody. This event is a promo thing trying to biuld drifting up and make these old, hard core circut racers realize what they are missing out on. All he needs are the fans (you guys) to go support him and the sport of drifting. If its a big turnout it will get these people and other people thinking, hmmm maybe this drift thing is a good idea. now its just up to you guys to show up and support your own sport that you want to be a part of so much. You guys can cry and wine about no track time and not show up and the VIR people will think this thing is a joke, or show up support our sport, have a good time and show these people what were about and then we will have more drift events in the future. ITS UP TO YOU GUYS TO GET THIS SPORT STARTED.

that's cool, i was just kinda confused as to what was going on
i'll most likely be going, seeing as i only live an hour away ;p
thanks for clearing it up drifta. i'm still gonna try to make it. it's always nice to see drifting in person. i just remember how at both hyperfest (summit point and lowe's), everyone just wanted to watch the drifting. it's good to see ppl getting interested. i really appreciate what mike has done for drifting on the east coast. more track time would be really awesome.
