Thud occurs when you shift? If so, either rear differential bushings, or subframe bushings. Describe when it happens, quickly accelerating = launching or shifting... Don't be afraid to say you were beating on it and was launching it. A single thud usually means a bushing is bad and something is hitting metal to metal and not being absorbed through a rubber bushing, which 240SX S14s have many of.

it could be something in your suspension or suspension to body.... get it in the air (lifting from the body) and check all your bushings, check the subframe bushings.... or you could take it to your local alignment shop and ask them to give u a suspension check... also check u joints and carrier bearing bracket and the bolts holding in the diff.. something is shifting causing it to thud, loose bolt or bad bushing

Most likely its the diff bushings.

well the rear driver side shock is blown and the thud happens after shifting i guess. it feels like when the car slows down something from the back doesnt want too, lol. thanks for the quick replys fellas.

probably the subframe bushings...your subframe is slapping against the body/fram/whatever you want to call it. had the same thing happen to me during braking and acceleration...kinda sounded like the spare tire was knocking around in the trunk...but it was dead bushings. it's not hard to check just get under the car with a flashlight and inspect the 4 corners of your subframe. while you're down there check the diff bushing like another person mentioned as well
