You had mentioned you owned a 240 ragtop, and you didn't mention anything about hating it. I was just curious if you had ever driven an s13 coupe first.

Thanks. =)

oh yah of course everyone who's owned a convertible MUST have owned a hardtop before just cuz u did GOD lol j/k lol did the convertible feel much heavier? and was the coupe or hatch that u had before that a 5-speed?

I'm not saying that. In fact, I'll go edit my original post. See, now it says "have you ever driven a coupe" like it should have in the first place, because that's really what I meant.

And, yeah, it really did feel a lot heavier and less firm. I mean, I know every convertible is different from it's hard-topped equivilent, but the difference in mine seemed very extreme. And, sigh, both were automatic.

When I bought my first 240, I didn't know how to drive stick. But, because I refused to own an automatic del Sol, I decided I was going to learn stick before buying my current car. But, I'm digressing.

Anyway, I guess what I wanted to know - in a nutshell - is whether others have experienced the same coupe (yeah, mine was a coupe) vs. convertible differences, or if maybe my convertible was just a lousy example.

I realize a coupe or fastback is probably tighter stock than my convertible. My friend has a 95 base that makes me dream of a 5sp... BUT I do enjoy putting the top down and just cruising. I guess a good question for everyone who makes fun of the convertibles is, have you ever driven one? :-) To each his own, I guess. Where are you in NJ? I'm in West Berlin, near Vorhees (S. Jersey).

I'm in Northern Jersey, in Hackensack.

I would never make fun of the convertible ... ever. I used to say that an '88 Volvo station wagon with the soccer team in it could pass me off the line for all I cared when that top was down. I know what you mean. With all the open air and sunlight, nothing else matters. It's why I bought one.

But whenever it was restored to "it's cold out" mode, mine just rode like a bitch. I wonder if I got a shitty one (even though professionals didn't seem to think so) or if the 240 conv. is actually just that weak.

Ya know what though, I swung by your website, and you seem determined to hook yours up with more power and (presumably) more strength. By the time you're done, you won't find anyone here more jealous than me.

I didn't have the dedication neccessary to transform mine, so I bought something that was strong and fast already. But, good luck with yours; in the end, it'll be a lot more attractive - that's for #### sure. Lemme know how it goes.
