I just got my Air Intake from procarparts off of ebay for my '89. They say it has no brand so that is why it is so cheap and I figured one intake couldn't be much different than another. Do I figure wrong or should this work as good as any short Ram intake?

there the same shit. except you wont have any place to put your air temperature sensor, which isnt good, but isnt too bad. i wish i didnt buy it though.
how much you pay???

less then 100. but then i had to buy a little hosing and a breather. the air filter is cheap as ####, and the piping is just piping. good if you dont care about buying things just for the name. i would recommend a k&n filter though (stillen) since it will have a hole for the air temp sensor. late

Do you think there is a way to mount it to the piping? and do I need to tap a hole for the sensor or anything?

Just wanted to say that I started putting this thing in today and have to say it is the fisrt worthless part I've bout for any car. The thing is supposed to fit 89 & 90 but it doesn't. The hoses barely reach and the hose that was attached to the air box not only doesn;t come close to reaching but if it did would have to wrap around the pipe to the front side of the engine bay just to get to the hole. Anyways, I guess I'm just venting and warning people that this particualr intake does not work. Maybe $250 for an Injen intake wouldn't have been too bad. It probably would have been actually made for my car. It just reafirms that you get what you pay for.

procarparts suck, they blocked me from bidding on theri stuff on ebay, since i retracted my bid of $100 for thier stupid side markers, lol. (my mistake but nevertheless.) some girl from dtmpower bought clear tailights from them and it always triggers a code on her 325i.

the intake fit on my 89-90. i had to buy new piping from the valve cover inlet (whatever the #### its called) to the intake pipe. as far as i can see there is no way to mount the air temp sensor on the pipe by drilling, since the air temp sensor is flat and the pipe is round. best place is either on top of the filter or just tape it to the pipe? who cares, same shit in my book. yes the intake is a POS but it still works if you take the time to think.

I just noticed on the ingen intake there is actually a mount for the air sensor. Don't know if that justifies the high price but it made me re think a little bit too late.

i dont think its really that important that it is in the air flow. just as long as its close and its mounted somewhere it wont get hit or smashed, wet, etc. they are really sensitive. i will let you guys know when my engine light comes on cuz it got smashed to pieces. thanks

I just drilled a hole on my adapter, put the sensor in, and sealed it up with silicone. works fine as well. anyways, I wouls say AEM is a very good quality (and quite a bit cheaper) alternative to Injen.
only thing is I'm not sure if they make intakes for the ka24e.
