Yes I know another starting issue thread. I've done a lot of searching and found similar problems but non quite the same. So the story goes:

A month back I noticed my car struggling to start a little when the weather got cold. The car ran perfectly fine during the summer and fall. At the end of December I went on a vacation and while on vacation we got hit hard with snow on the east coast. About a foot or so in my area. I get back right before I have to go back to work and go to start the car and it wont start. Its turning and sounds like it wants to start but it wont. I gave it a little gas while trying to start it and it fired right up. Let the car warm up while I finished what I had to do and only to find out the car shut off. Try to start it and no go. Came inside and researched some and went back out and it started. Let it sit for awhile and it shut off. Where should I go first about trouble shooting? No codes being thrown and sorry for the long story.

The only things done in the past year to the car was a new battery, upgraded alt to a quest, and during the summer got rid of the marble in a can sound. Plugs and wire are good.

I'm gonna go ahead and say check with the alternator. Not that it bad, maybe a plug or a ground isn't plugged up. I know you said you got all of them, but doesn't hurt to tripple check, etc.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the alternator..along with the alternator belt, but I doubt that's the issue..

I'll give it a shot. Actually had snow come down while I was under the hood. No garage so I'll have to give it a good look over tomorrow. Thanks. Anymore input or tips at what to look at would be awesome.

So its now been over 2 months and the problem has returned. For the initial diagnosis I thought I my have had water in my gas. I tried a fuel stabilizer and thought that solved the problem. Going to work 1 day in February the car bogged down and I couldn't trouble shoot it since I was on my way to work. Get out of work and make it to a gas station and put gas in and it worked perfectly fine.

Now in March I was on my way home and the car just cut out. Couldn't get it to start so I had to have it towed. Get it home and it fires up then the rpm's just completely drop to 0. Left it be to go figure out the problem and search on here. Start with fuel problems, I changed the pump and filter, checked the timing and now I'm stuck. It fires and runs awhile then bogs and die. Try to start it and it dies shortly after. If I let it sit for awhile it'll run for a short while then bog and die.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone or have any prior issues like this?

P.S.- Sorry for the story but I don't want to leave anything out.

also, If I start it then it dies and try to restart it, it runs for a quick sec. If I hit the gas, it wont stay alive.

It kinda sounds like your air regulator and your iacv circuit.

Found the problem. Turns out oil was getting into the distributor. Replaced the distributor and reset timing and everything is good. Shows to look a little harder sometimes. I should have seen the oil when removing it. Thanks for the input.
