They do help a little, but if you're not worried about the appearance a stack of washers works, or you can actually find stainless bushings at Lowes and stuff like that.

White hard plastic spacers at the home depot...everthing you need will cost you less than $5 or so...

at first i said these were gonna be a waste and it wouldnt cool shit but when i installed my washers in, i could feel the heat coming out of the hood and i can see my temp. was lower.

these "seem" to work, i also have a set of these chillin in my tool box. it works great as a window defroster too! :)
