Anyone know the stock wastegate setting in this turbo? I've looked online and found nothing, I even called Apexi in CA and there tech support or whatever are on vacation. So anyone else on here run a Apexi turbo? I have it installed but I have the wastegate actuator disconnected just for the fact my engine is stock and I don't want to be running 15psi until I get a tune a PFC.

you could test it with a pump, and you should to verify it works properly.

I put a air compressor to it at 20psi it works fine never thought about using a pump though.

with the vaccuum line disconnected won't it boost like way over 20psi?
It's probably safer to keep it connected.

No not the vac line the wastegate actuator itself. It shouldnt build any pressure with it not connected??

If it's desgined like a T28 then with the actuator off, it should be in the full closed position and then be building boost....i think..
if 50% sure. lol.

the car should not build any boost with the actuator off since there is nothing to hold the wastegate flapper closed

Hmmm maybe your right, Bc it looks identical to a 2871r maybe a little bigger give or take. I thought if the wategate wasn't connected there was nothing there to build boost, so you would maybe get 1-4psi if your lucky with it disconnected.

I don't know what it's setting is but even if it was 500 psi, it shouldn't build enough boost to kill anything if you grandma the gas pedal. Got boost gauge?

Yea of course I have one, I just don't want to melt a piston or anything. Trying to be safe before I get my ecu flashed

I put a air compressor to it at 20psi it works fine never thought about using a pump though.

I do it all the time, even when installing a brand new one, just to verify it does open at the rated psi.
If its 5psi wastegate then you will see it starting to open at 5, if 15 then it will open at 15 and so on.
