Jspec is no longer selling clear kouki turn sigs, I emailed about them last week and he said he only offered the stock amber ones, $150 shipped to us (dont quote me on that).

The Clear ones, i just bought from a guy on ebay for $150 ([email protected], hit him up, he might still have some), made by Cwest. Pretty good, since all other places I go to have 'em listed at $170. I bought an S14 kouki grill with it, he might have given me a lil' help on pricing. Ask around, if you buy a large order you might get a discount often.

CWest, East Bear, and GP Sports (i think) all make clear turn sigs.

Question: Given the similarity in shape to 3rd Generation Integra (94-01) Turn sigs, has any one tried using those instead, or do they simply not fit without a crapload of work making it pointless?

Also, does anyone have detailed instructions on the wiring that needs to be done to fit the kouki turn sigs on a USDM 240sx? The bulbs do not fit directly, I heard you need to splice wires from the side marker.

Thats koo...i got ahold of chris from speed alliance they they got them in stock for $125 so Imma prolly jes try to pick it up from them. Hmm...now im thinkin of getting a kouki grill too. But imma wait till i get my bumper back from the shop b4 i decide. How much did u pay for the grill?

As for the Integ sigs...i was thinkin bout that same thing. They look close enuff. Imma have to jack some sigs to check it out *jk* Anybody got a integ so i can compare em?

As for the bulbs...yah i know the USDM bulb socket wont work with the JDM one. The socket from the Side Markers work. Only down side is that depending on which blinker set you get...you might need 2 sets of em. I cant remember which ones tho. I had a boy who had the 2 set ones in his cwest bumper.

Cut the ground wire from your turn signal and tap it (with a wire tap) into the green (postive) wire that goes to your turn signal connector. Your going to use that same connector that goes to your sidemarkers for the JDM turn signal, and you will unplug the connector that goes to the USDM turn signal socket. Your result is that your JDM turn signals will stay on like sidemakers, but will blink (fast) once you hit a turn signal switch. Does this make sense?

There is another way...but its more cutting and splicing.

And also youll need to to use a dual filament bulb for that.

Ah yes, all of a sudden this has become the most ghetto lighting thread of alltime.

1) If you want signals for your S14, buy **S14** turn signals -- NOT Integra.. they are NOT close enough, they are Integra lamps. Dont put Honda lamps on your NISSAN or you will be forever ridiculed.

2) Wire them up properly, this means learning which wire is:
- ground
- high (signal)
- low (parking lamp)

the sidemarkers work equally the same, except have a single filament bulb:
- ground
- low (parking lamp)

Thats ALL you need to do, just do it properly -- this means solder your wires, no lame crimp or tee-taps.

HOWEVER, while you are there.. you MAY want to consider wiring up your side-marker with side-signal functionaliry. You can do this by:
- Cut the ground wire that goes to the side-marker bulb and connect it to the high (signal) lead. Basically, the sidemarker will illuminate like normal, but will also have signal capability.

If i've never done any wire splicing/soldering on lights before, its probably not a good first time project, right?...

Anyone in the Bay Area or Sac got the know-how to handle this?

EDIT: the Integra turn sig idea was because they had similar shape and Teg turn signals can be acquired virtually for free since everybody and their momma has clear turn sigs and it was in production for what, 8 years?

I did that with my sidemarkers...I would solder the wires, but I couldn't since I have no access to a garage or a 100ft extention cord. I have no problem with my "lame crips" and "tee-taps".

Dont take offense, you make it seem like I am cricising YOUR method for doing that kind of work.

You dont necessarily need access to a garage, you COULD buy a cordless solder gun that works off of propane gas -- many alarm installers use these. Soldering doesnt take much time, and the results are a lot more SOLID.

Luckily, a sidemarker wire isnt as important as lets say, a wire for the ECU or ignition.. so using crimp connectors isnt as RISKY. But, why have bad habits.. just learn to solder and you're way ahead of the pack.

I've used crimp connectors, I've learned from my mistakes.. we move on.

sorry to bring up this old thread, but I felt my question didn't need a new one.

For those who have the JDM Kouki S14 front bumper, the front blinker changes from a 1156 type bulb to a 168 type sidemarker bulb. This results in a lower resistance, so the signals blink very fast. Did you guys simply just add a 5 or 10 ohm resistor? that's probabyl what I'll do, but I just wanted to get some input. thanks.

wait, behind? what do you mean? I thought you were referring to the front turn sigs?

Yo, this thread has some decent info and the JDM turn sigs are an increasingly sought after part...maybe this should be archived/FAQ'd? It does have some install info
