Hey Guys,
I'm a long time member of NICOClub(Since 05, with 3000 HELPFUL posts), but recently have realized that they are a solid sized joke. I was recently banned for talking back to a moderator who is on a power trip (Defending Fel-Pro gaskets and Copper spraying headgaskets)

Figured I would get started over here.

I have owned over 10 240s, and help people all the time locally with their builds. I have personally rebuilt about 8 KA's. So I know them pretty well. Any timing issues/internal questions I'm sure I can help people out with.

This particular engine is going to see a GT28 at peak PSI with meth injection (18psi or so) We are shooting for the 400hp range on stock internals. Should not have any problems. Maybe I will start a build thread for it...

YouTube - Part 1 - How to remove cylinder head from KA24DE 240sx S13 S14 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inJK7vf5RBw)
YouTube - Part 2 - How to remove cylinder head from KA24DE 240sx S13 S14 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7ckRCzHGS0&feature=related)

I will be following this up with a reassembly, how to run oil+cooling lines for a GT series turbo, lapping valves and other tid bits.

Also we are shooting a SR20DET build in the next couple weeks.

Any questions feel free to ask!

sounds like a noob question, but can this be done while engine is still in car? what if im replacing the chains and guides, does marking do anything for me if im disgarding them anyway?

yes, it can be! There are a couple differences however. If you need tips, let me know! I have done this with the engine in the car about 4 times now. Basically you either need to REMOVE the intake manifold (which is kind of a pain) or have a partner help you. I can do a quick writeup on the differences if you want.

please, as for taking off the intake plenum ive already changed out the 4 studs for bolts. So for my car the upper intake runners can be removed without having to completely remove the intake..thanks

Great job. I just watched the videos and took notes. I was most likely going to rebuild my ka as my first rebuild and this was very helpful. Can't wait to see the future videos to come. Very nice job.

Nice job! Just watched both videos.
They would have definitely come in handy when I had my old KA and a mind of adventure! LOL. But I guess you live and learn right.

Man thanks for the vids! Some of us have no friends/family members with mechanical knowledge so have to teach ourselves everything by reading and watching instructional videos...

Is there anyway you could re-upload the vids in higher quality? The only option I can see is 240p. Unless you filmed everything with a cellphone there's no reason why youtube would downgrade the quality so much.

Thanks again, hope to see more vids like this in the future. Some people can do this with their eyes closed but for those just learning, explaining/describing everything in detail is extremely helpful

Psssh, I didn't post that one. :) So his doesn't count. I want it to be clear I am not a noob and am here to help. You VERY VERY RARELY will find ME asking questions. I am here to answer questions and help. I've had plenty of 240s stripped naked and put back together to know my way around.

And yes I have been a member since 2007, but never posted. This was literally my first post for here.:keke:

Youtube made me cut it down to 240p, otherwise I would have had to split it up a bunch of times. If someone needs it in higher resolution, I can always send them a DVD or upload it on ZIP files.

I wish this video came out sooner. I had to use a picture guide to put my engine back together, no biggie tho. I just prefer a video instead however, this video is very helpful and it'll come in handy. Good job man.

Hey hows it going. So i have a misfire and im sure its coming from my 4th spark plug. I recently did a tune up, and when i got to the 4th plug. The Splug well thread was really stripped. I decided to just add the new one anyways cause i wasnt at home. So i put it in and i had to use alot of pressure just to tighten it. Some people on here told me to either helicoil it or pull the head out and replace it. Would i be doing what you did in the video? Or what head would i be replacing? Ive never done any rebuilding on engines yet.
