Calling in zilvia to help:bowdown:

I've got a '92 s13 hatch with 113k miles. It has a stock DOHC with Buddy Club. It has a headunit in it, but has been professionally wired. That's about it.

Everything ran perfect up until about 3 weeks ago, when my car wouldn't start some mornings. I live in Ohio and with it being very cold, and my battery looking quite outdated, I put a new battery in it. I stepped op to a little bigger size battery. While putting it in, to get my negative cable on I had to remove the black plastic battery tray. Battery was fine, then realized in about a week my radio was off, no power to my radio, dome lights, or my clock. One morning, my whole dash lost power include my heat/ac. Pulled all the fuses, changed them, and everything worked for about 300 yards when my radio cut back out:wtf:.

It has been like this ever since. I have changed the fuse multiple times with it working sometimes, and sometimes not. It warmed up one day, and my radio came back on for a split second, and my clock kept fading in and out, then my radio kicked off again. I'm at a loss.

Also, the past couple of days when I start my car, it won't go into gear now. It'll move left/right in neutral but will not go into a gear, and I don't want to force it. If i turn the car off, put it in gear, then start the car back up it moves throughout the gears.

I'm at a loss right now, searched around a little and couldn't find anyone with the same problems. Any feedback is appreciated !

sounds like your alternator is toast, and are the fuses you're changing blown? also random info you should use the battery grease around your positive and negative terminals so they don't rust, and as for the other problems im stumped.

just my opinion on what im getting out of this.

Buddy Club what?

Look at your dash indicator lights if possible.
If the battery light is on you're alternator is bad most likely.
You may have shorted something out cause the larger battery touching something (pictures speak 10000000 words)
Bad ground
Short in wiring

Syncros may be going out
May be the cold weather
May be mater/slave cyl.

You are throwing out some pretty generalized stuff, kinda like asking:
What's in outer space?

check your fuses, mainly the alt fuses its the 75a fuse. as for your radio, just beause it i professionally installed, doesnt mean you get PERFECT work. so you might wanna check that out.

sounds to me like it may be your car. you should consider trading it in for something newer.

Are your fuses in fact blowing or are you just replacing them?

clean the battery terminal posts and the clamps. and take the grounds again and scrub/sand paper them clean to make better contact.

and just to make things better, soak your pos/neg batt. terminal clamps in coke for about 30 mins and rinse it off with water before you scrub it down with battery terminal cleaning tool.

and as far as car not going into gear, it could be your master cylinder or slave cylinder.

OR...

how do you park your car at home? drive way/on slope, in garage/level ground, in gear after the car is off, in gear while car is running/clutch depressed and engine off and clutch off etc.

try this out next time. when you start your car in the morning, pump the clutch pedal couple of times and roll the car forward or backwords couple of feet while engine is running before you try to engage into gear. might fix that problem.

Okay updating this thread, still trying to figure this out.

Car has no running lights, but brake lights will light up and the headlights do work. Radio does not have power, no cluster lights, no dome lights and no clock. All the fuses in the kick panel are good. I was thinking the 75amp alternator relay and swapped out a good one, and still nothing. Motor looks to be grounded out correctly and still searching. Any input is appreciated

its a fuse. radio, clock and dome light are all usually controlled by one fuse. either look under hood or under your driver side dash (usually under the dash) for the fuse, and replace it with one of the same amperage rating. this should solve your problem.

Something caused it to blow in the first place.
