I made a boost leak tester from a PVC end cap and a valve stem. I apply pressure via the turbo inlet. (http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html)
I was wondering if I need to disconnect my wastegate line during this process, and I also need to know if this pressurizes the whole intake manifold as well?
Because wouldn't the pressure just go out the exhaust if it pressurized the intake manifold..? (Since some valves are going to be open in the head)
If I do need to disconnect the wastegate line, would I remove the wastegate end of the hose, and just crimp the hose in half with vice grips or something..?
I tested for leaks up to 20 PSI and I didn't have any, but that was with the wastegate line attached. Do I need to block off my valve cover breather(attached to pre turbo intake) and idle air hose (attached to cold pipe) as well?
