are you meeting us at the shop before hand and caravaning out with us, or just going there yourself??

i'm hoping this thread is for a "meet" as opposed to a drift event..this is not a drift event...

you do what you want, and it is on you, but i just don't want this coming down on myself, my friends, or my shop as we were the individuals who were informed at the last auto-x that drifting was unacceptable at these events...and i am quite certain that if numerous individuals show up to drift it will be assumed that it was us who influenced the influx of drifters to this venue...

thanks for understanding...

Nokeone-what time are you heading down to marina? I have to be at a dress fitting at 1 in capitola, so I was hoping to run in the morning group. Maybe I'll just see you guys there if you are planning to head down in the afternoon.

hmmm...I wonder how many cones I'll take out...hehe..j/k

haha..hopefully none..that way you wont get kicked out..;)

and i would be going down for the afternoon session..i'm not worried about points and such so it doesn't matter to me if i run "out of class"...just no where near motivated enough to get to the track at like 7am...i'll show up prolly around 12:30-1 and then run around 2pm i think..that is if i go at all though..pending my car running and all..:)..but i will prolly head out even if i'm not driving..

I agree with nokeone, please do not turn this into a drift event. That is a good way to get us banned for good. If you are relatively skilled and are confident that you won't mess up anyone else's run, it is ok by me (not necessicarily by them). however if you think you are Koguchi and have never drifted before, this is not the place for you.

Drive safely and have fun!

I'm pretty sure they don't care if u drift one or two turns. A miata and a camaro did it w/o getting yelled at.

it all depends on who the sponsoring club is..the first time, when it was sponsored by a Miata Club, they were stoked on our drifting...everyone was pretty much enthralled...

however, at the following event, sposored by Club Camero, we were told we would be banned if we didn't cease the drifting immediately...

and i imagine the Miata and the Camero you refer too were not drifting intentionally but rather just got on the gas a little too hard, too early, at the exit of a turn and slid the tail out...correct, or no?..

and only drifting a turn or two wouldn't make the event worthwhile in my opinion..

Oh, in that case, that's a shame.

Nah, they didnt fishtail, they slid through the entire corner... and in the z28's case, 2 corners.

That's true. Standing there watching for a few hours and then working a group for another hour just to drift a few times while shelling out 25 dollars is not worth it. I guess time trials aren't for everyone, but it's good to mix things up a bit for fun. And if you're into road racing, auto-x is a good way to prep yourself for that unless you already are good or go to a racing school of course.
