Hi, i have a slight problem with my clutch catching when im redlining my car. It slips when i shift and i lose a ton of time when that happens. Is there a solution to this problem or is it because my clutch is going out. My clutch is still good because i did that third gear starting thing and it seems to go and doesnt stall so the clutch should be good. My car is a 96 240sx with 39000 miles on it. Do i need to change the clutch fluid to prevent this? What else could be the cause of this? Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

check your fluid... but you car would still be able to start in third even if the clutch is slipping (i tried.hehe)... but if your certain that its slipping then it can only get worse...
but if your not certain than wait it out and see if it gets worse... do you drive your car hard all the time?? you grind gears?
give us a little more info...

A bad clutch should make it easier to start in 3rd :bash:

To test your clutch you have to dump it and see if it grabs and pulls the revs down quickly or if it slips and takes a second for the revs to fall. Do this in 3rd or 4th gear to ensure no wheelspin.

Check your pedal adjustment. It might be possible your engagement point is too high and that you pedal doesn't completely disengage the clutch when released.
