So i've tried everything, new switch, known good black and white boxes on the drivers side kick panel, all fuses are good. All of the other lights work and the headlights go up and down, but just don't turn on. I used a test light and i'm not getting any power to the fuses. I did rub through 2 wires on the drivers side harness, but repaired both of the one went to the sensor for the brake fluid level and i have no idea what the other one goes to. That wire is green with a blue trace. I am stumped and figured before i pull the harness out of the front of the car getting some ideas from you guys with a fresh perspective.

This is on a s13 with pop ups btw if you can't tell by context clues.

i guess nobody knows, i'm going to swap harnesses out today and see if that works

Have you tested the switch? Sometimes, there is corrosion buildup on the contacts and the switch stops working right. I think there is a write up on NICO on how to clean the contacts.

as stated before i've switched it out with 2 known good ones

yeah the only thing that has changed is i put my built motor in, and noticed the head lights weren't coming on.

was it right before you put the motor in or after, could be something with the plugs on the lights, hids or no? and check the relays in the right box i forgot which one specifically but it moight have something to do with it.

well you MIGHT have had a wire caught on the engine as you brought it down (doubt it)

or did you check the strange looking fuse in the passenger side fuse box? It's a brown one... that might have blown and you might have missed it

and the green/blue wire doesn't seem to have anything to do with the headlights since it doesnt come up in the headlight wiring scheme in FSM... i could have missed it though

i'm not too sure when it happened, i've checked all the fuses and replaced a few that are on the light circuit to rule those out, i will try the relays. They are HID's but for testing i've been using standard h4 bulbs as well as tested the hids on one of my other cars.

that was actually the problem i noticed it when i was moving some wires out of the way while probing the harness with a multimeter.
