View Full Version : KA24DE, did i mess up installing my timing chain?

so i was putting in my crank pulley on my KA24DE this morning and turning it and noticed now that my dots on the cam sprockets dont line up with the marks on the chain any more, it looks like it skipped one chain link. At TDC the front cam lobes are still pointing out and piston 1 and 4 are up? Is there a sure fire way of knowing if the timing is off? Heres what it looks like:

It only lines up to the marks on the chain every so many turns of the crank. As long as the number of links between the marks remains correct you are good. That looks correct as long as the bottom chain lines up too.
