So last night I decided to swap my intake cam to the 248 from s13 ka. After the swap I start it up and it seems fine. Then I took it out around to block it idles like a V8 with super high lift cam and have a vac of 12 inHG. The car have a better power at 4k an up but anything below is crap. And once I got home the passenger side of the engine bay is covered with oil from the VC breather port ( I don't have anything connected to it yet, it doesn't have that L either that's why it covered the whole passenger side. What is up with my engine?!!??!? Please help

sounds to me like the timing is off i got a sr one time and the ex. cam was off one tooth and it was a rocket after 3500 but before that it was a dog and had a horrible idle and would stall out if i didnt play with the gas pedal

is the head the original stock one? if it happened to a replacement from a pickup truck or maybe another later ka model, it may not have the rear cam journal, and the cam that was in it to begin with wouldn't have had an oil hole for that missing journal.
The S13 cams have the extra rear journal and the cams have an extra oil hole after the last lobe. if you run a head without the last journal, you'll have to plug the rear oil feed hole.

i had the rear of the cam drilled out and tapped for a threaded plug so I wouldn't piss oil all over the place.

Ok the engine is a ka-t in an s14 and it got 5 journals on each cam and when u said it got an extra oil hole where would that b at? And what do I have to block off?

if you have only 5 journals, you have an exposed oil hole on your S13 cam.
the contact surface on each cam journal has an oil hole on it.
if you had an exposed hole, all of that oil pressure is just going to piss oil everywhere!

youll have to somehow block those holes if this is the case. (you won't be able to use them again for a 6-journal head, but....)
you can see in my first post how I had it drilled and tapped with a plug that fit far enough into the butt end that it effectively blocked the rearmost hole.
fixed.

as far as how it's running, you may have moved a tooth off... I believe you have to turn ccw 4 teeth on the intake side using the exhaust cam to make it work. however, to do it properly, you'll need JWT adjustable cam gears, or you can have a very experienced machine shop turn em out for you (as long as they DO NOT just copy the diagrams that everyone prints out- they do not come out correct!!!)

these are mine.

Ok thank you very much. And yeah I took the valve cover off and notice right away that my exhaust cam was off by one tooth. So when I have time I will try to plug it up some how and see if that works. Thank you!

keep in mind, if you run with that one journal spraying freely, the other contact journals are being starved for oil. you can damage cams and journals that way!
