Hey,

I got an ecu from a friend that has been socketed and has the PLMS daughterboard installed. Initial problem is the fuel pump wouldnt turn on with this ecu, kicked on with the stock one. A friend switched the jumper on the ecu to go back to the stock, and the ecu still didnt turn on the pump, so we assumed potentially something was wrong with the ecu.

So we decided we'd switch the daughterboards, assuming that the chip may not have something that turns the fuel pump on. Switched daughterboard on to my ECU, and the fuel pump wont turn on.

Can anyone verify for me that the eproms do have the capacity to turn the fuel pump on?

All i want is verification, if thats the case, I am going to invest in a programmer and see if I can get it working again.

Thanks.

sounds like the ecu is bad.

if you moved the jumper, which puts it back to stock then the fuel pump should prime.

If i were you, I'd get the diagnostic software and consult cable too!
you could turn on and off the fuel pump with it, and use that to test the wiring and relay for pin 104. As well as pulling codes and dumping bins.

I think you may have a burnt trace in the ecu, faulty relay or wiring issue.
Tunes rarely go bad and the info is not stored like you're thinking for the fuel pump
but the registers are there.

There's a diode on ECUs that can burn out when shorted that will prevent the fuel pump (and a bunch of other stuff) from getting power.

Check for burnt traces on the ECU, or maybe a diode. If it's nothing obvious, it's toast, and NOT the tune.
