ok, i got a 9:1 comp red top in my car. running t25, stock boost. im not ready to do a turbo/ems upgrade yet, so i wanna get the car into good stock running form.

right now the safc2 is installed, the previous owner screwed around with it, it needs to be tuned by a knowledgeable person.

or...how will it run with just stock ecu?

i know nothing about tuning, and im willing to have my safc2 tuned, or ill sell it, i just wanna dd this around, but its boggy.
i initialized the safc so basically its just monitoring.
ok dont /thread
first off, i didnt buy it.

but....
i took off stock exhaust, running open downpipe, chhecked ecu and it spit a code 55. so does that mean my maf and sensors are in working order???

i cant get a rom tune if i cant drive the car to the shop...lol
i was told it has old gas in it. tomorow im getting new gas and puttin in new spark plugs.

when i cold start the car, it holds idle at about 1500 rpm, but is somewhat consistant. when i touch the throttle it bogs down, when i let off it goes back up..
then when the car heats up, it just dies, and wont start back up.....

^most recent info....

ps: runs pig rich, boggy, stanky

the problem is safc

throw it in the brush, and if you find it again, shoot it with the nearest handgun.

How on earth could you have a 9:1 engine, yet running stock junk. priorities brother, priorities.

Just run it on stock stuff, get a rom tune and be happy. If you 'need' a custom tune (whcih i highly doubt at this stage) then obviously you'll go there. Unless you want more than 400 hp, you'll be fine with a rom tune form JWT or Enthalpy.

If you are running stock injectors and maf there is nothing to tune. Just unhook it or reset it

this may sound retarded... what bov are you using... Tials cause this on our cars when they dont have a strong enough spring.

I could be a vacuum leak maybe?

My car did the exact same thing but it would stay running, but would run like shit. the moment I tapped the throttle it would die. Turns out my Ic piping came off.

greddy type s knock off i believe.....but i cant even get into boost......the car has trouble staying on.. when i hit throttle at all it sputter like crazy and just bogs down...

i had it going pretty good the other day..had to drive it about 20 miles home. then i initiallized the safc, hooked up stock exhaust, and now it has issues.

looks like i dont have any boost leaks. i hit 7 psi the other day according to my boost gauge, and bov seemed to work fine.

edit:NOTICEABLE boost leaks. it was cold as shit outside, will go further in depth tomorow after work

issue fixed.
cylinder 4's coil pack screw was broke, so it wasnt completely on plug. or wasnt on at all...

changed plugs, reinstalled coilpacks. fired up instantly, purred..

took it out for some fun, held up AWESOME! thanks everyone for the input, even tho the issue was retarded lol

/thread mods. thanks again zilvia

the problem is safc

end thread...

Get a haltech or a PFC

I would still seriously get rid of that thing...they are garbage for hot wire based maf cars...just simply by knowing how the OEM ecu factors load and decides timing I would be afraid of even wiring one up...

They typically put a 6 month expiration date on your motor

Weird... I ran one for years with no tuning issues. They're a nightmare for people (or kids) that can't leave shit alone though, like my 3 year old that likes to press every button in my car.

i had safc on my redtop sr with cams and a t28 i blew the ecu and when i replaced it i removed the safc and the car idled and ran better. do the world a favor and destroy the safc all it does is lie to your car dont hurt someone by selling them an safc.
