i need a opinion from fabricators and people with solid motor mounts. i dont have the front radiator support for my car nor i have an aluminum welder. now i made the bracket below just to hold the raditor from moving. Do you guys think it would twist much with solid motor mounts to cause an issue? or just leave it? my other idea was to simply weld a bracket to the radiator but that would mean i got to take it to someone, which i really dont want to do.. any suggestions welcomed thanks!

i dont want to do that.. i like it how it is

so you have no core support to support your radiator? and your running solid motor mounts? you do realize your going to flex the chassis now (BIG TIME) since you basically have 2 posts sticking out of your fire wall that you bolted you motor to. That support looks sketchy since its going to move the radiator with the motor. Put a radiator core support back in before you kill yourself or someone else. Your going at this in a very bad/wrong way. Build a cross brace to tie in both frame rails. Then make your support for the radiator. DONT BE DUMB

Thanks for your 2 cents ... But did u really need the " don't be dumb " ?

Radiator supports are flimsy as hell anyways. I doubt it does all that much if you could.measure how much more or .less rigid a car is. But why don't you want it?

2 reasons. One i got to weld thatching back on and remove all this cost more money! 2nd I got to re paint it.... But I might just bolt somethig across then. I wanted to do a vent to shove air into the radiator well see other people input thanks

A simple 1/2'' bar from your inner fender that goes all the way cross the front end. then mount the rad on that.

FYI rad support is a good 30-45lbs wight reduction. so play it right and be safe dude.

What this guy said. You could even have it be bolt in.

I wouldn't want my radiator cracking from engine torque. Aluminum doesn't take well to fatigue stress like that, even the little that it's getting from solid engine mounts.

im with Ali 556 ..

why not something like this to hold the rad in place and still have room to build your vent.

Make a bolt on radiator support, that will bring more headaches down the road than if you just fabbed up a quick support now.

i predict a cracked radiator

I predict a cracked motor. Now you putting all that stress into the block itself.

with what everyone said, you can always make the brackets weld to the bolt on and have little prongs hold them in place, no?

Like weld the bracket on the bolt on support then either drill into the radiator (unless it'll mess it up) and thread that hole or have something that you can clam onto it with and bolt

Yeah, with the top bolted to the engine and the bottom to the frame it's going to act like another motor mount. The weak point being the radiator flexing.

yeah that's stupid, i was under the impression he left the bottom loose which would rattle the hell out of the radiator

Not to worry I will make a bar for it no big deal...
