Hey, I've been searching around online and found several comapnies that make OBDII scanner adapters and software for palm pilots.
Does anyone have any experience with these at all?
I'm looking to purchase one, and I was hoping someone would have a reccomendation.
They seem to vary in price very signifigantly. I definately want one that will work with a large variety of cars. Well, at least my s14 and my explorer, but pref. more.
Also, the real-time data logging looks like a cool feature some have.
Thanks,
Greg

My friend bought the OBDII datalogger software and connecting harness for his 2g DSM. I used it on my 95 240sx and its a pretty good tool. You can log when u do pulls from like 0-100 or whatever and see when ur going lean or when your going rich... u can also clear check engines lights etc, i dont have too much experience on it so yea... also i dont even know if my car is OBDII or OBDI... Someone on a thread said mine was OBDI but yea his data logger worked so im not really sure.. so confusing

For OBDII they made all the plugs the same so it will work on any car. The scanner just has to have the car either programmed into it or in to a said module. Also, I believe that they standardized the location of the plugs. Just look for one that can be upgraded for little to no cost, and something that looks as though it's built well.

Ya, I have a Palm pilot w/300degree Nprobe software, it works great, heres a link:http://300degree.com/electronics/nprobe/
They have great tech support, forum support also, and email software updates, and bug fixes.

That's actually an alright price for a good one. If you look it even works for HICAS!!! But, with any scan tool it's going to be a good amount of money, esp. in the long run if you have to buy more modules for newer cars. Another diagnostic tool I love is an ocilliscope (sp?). They're great. Much better than a multi-meter. But that's beyond the scope of this thread.

Ya consider this, a new Nissan conzult goes for $3000, and $1500 used, plus the nprobe will do much more than a conzult will do, for far less money, and will have future software updates.
