Hey everybody, I have a s14 with a redtop sr20det. I installed it myself in august. About 3 weeks later the nosepeice broke on it leaving me stuck without a working clutch, i took it to a shop where a friend replaced the nosepeice for me with another used nosepeice. About 7 weeks ago i had the clutch replaced because of squeaking i thought was the throwout bearing. After the clutch was replaced i started hearing a chatter like sound coming from the transmission. About 3 weeks ago I went to a drift event beating up my clutch. The next time i drove it I started feeling a vibration in the clutch pedal. I replaced my master and my slave and nothing fixed the vibration. Yesterday I went to put the clutch in to shift and the clutch went to the floor. I pulled it back up and I limped back home. Today i went into the transmission myself to find that the nosepeice is broken again, and the center section in the new clutch disk feels a little bit loose. Ever since I have had the swap I have noticed while putting the clutch in I hear a faint grind/whirring sound, I don't know how to describe it. Can anyone give any input on why I'm breaking nosepeices?
Thanks

Whats a nose piece? Pivoit Ball?

what brand clutch are you using?

What TOB are you using?

If your reffering to the Pivoit Ball, then those things are notorious for breaking when using stronger Pressure plates.

You'll need to upgrade to a Nismo Pivoit Ball

The nosepeice that i'm referencing is the part where the input shaft comes out of the transmission, where the TOB rides on part #32110 here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/240sx-parts-s14-1995-1998/genuine-nissan-parts/power-train/321-transmission-case-clutch-release/-c-3690_3691_3756_3770.html. The clutch and TOB are ebay (gripforce), but the nosepeice did break with the Nissan clutch and TOB that came with the swap.

Thanks for the help

32110...Isnt that the transmission input shaft cover? How the hell is that breaking?!?! I was thinking you were talking about the pivot, the piece that the fork actually sits on and threads into the input shaft cover. Alot of folks break those...

Ya know, I can remember a long time ago peopl ebusting those covers up...I have never personally seen it, but I can recall either here or FA that there were a few cracked ones...

Only time I've seen folks blow those up is when they grenade their transmission too. I'm one of those folks...

But the cover just blowing for no reason at all, I havent seen them to break open with nothing else fucked up.

OP: Mind taking some shots of the cover so we get an idea where its breaking? I'm curious to see if breaking where the shaft is (would point something with the clutch) or around the cover itself (only thing that I can think of is something flew off the clutch at high velocity and blew thru the cover).

Do you have a one piece drive shaft?

I broke two when mine was out of balance.

I put the stock drive shaft back on and have been fine ever since.

It is breaking where the shaft-piece meets the base.
Thanks for the help, I think the bellhousing my be a little warped. Has anyone ever heard of that happening?

what did you do to fix it? swap transmissions, or just swap bellhousings?
Thanks
