Thanks for all your guyzez help :ughug: . i looked at the exhaust had a couple leaks, borrowed my brothers cat, fixed a couple egr hoses that were ripped n craked n passed smog. smog guy fixed my timing n now im getting a lot of clutch slipping. what's next. :duh: thanks again .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
my car is a 95 240sx passed everything except a NO(PBM) TEST
15MPH: MAX- 493, AVE-170, MEAS 1639<--- FAIL
25MPH: MAX- 516, AVE-158, MEAS-0657<--- FAIL

the guy at the smog place said it could be a exhaust leak or something to do with my EGR system.
before the test i put everything stock back on and made sure they were tight. he tested my EGR valve n said thats funny it should hold pressure mine isn't. it builds pressure for a couple seconds n drops to nothing. i'm not sure what to do.

Thought i should add this too. my check engine light is on after i just completed my auto->5speed swap. i used my stock auto harness n wired all the transmission connections up. the wires for the auto transmission are still hanging there cut n taped up not sure what to do with them. uummm, i'm using a 5speed ecu. I DID DRILL THE HOLE FOR THE CRANK ANGLE SENSOR PRETTY CLOSE TO WHERE IT WAS ON MY BROS 95 5SPEED 240. please help me my tags expire the 18th :sadwavey: thanks zilvians

not 6, you have 2 months. check your vacuum hoses to your egr. Check your check engine code and see what it is. Go from there.

First step to figuring this out is to buy an fsm it will give you more specific instructions on how to pinpoint the problem if you are still having trouble we can go down the list of things to try. I really doubt it has anything to do with the 5-spd swap unless you hacked up your wiring or did something really careless.

Take the ecu, turn the ignition on, and turn the screw on the ecu clockwise for 2 seconds, and counterclockwise for 2 seconds, count the flashes.

*For educational/instructional purposes only... not intended for use*

Change your spark plugs, fix all vacuum leaks, and pour some denatured alcohol in your tank on empty (1/4 tank). Reset the ECU, no CEL or code show throw for 50 miles.

your car is obd1 you can get away with check engine codes, just reset the ecu and make sure it stays off long enough for the test.

Yea the smog guy let me go on the light cause I got it to go offfor atleast a minute lol. But everyone thanks for the info. I just got home I've been checkinng this thru my phone. I'm going to start checking things out. Keep them comming. I appreciate it alot. I like that denatured alcohol option might try that too.
