I have a jdm trust 3" downpipe I have been using for several years. Its in great shape minus scrapes on the bottom from being so low but its lack of dents, bending, and other damage is tempting me to use it on my next setup (ie.) hacking it up.....

Now Im not really interested in selling it and that is not the reason for this thread, but what this thread is about is Im wanting someone to stop me by telling me its worth something if it is. I figure there is a possibility of it being worth something possibly and if it is Ill put it in the attic and start from scratch on my downpipe, if not Ill be able to use it my making a few cuts, different flanges, extending/shortning it some ect.

i stopped reading at "I have a jdm"

search is key with this thing, if its worth something then you'll find it in "Greddy/Trust sr downpipe"

jdm jdm jdm!!11111

Look I dont care about that. I have lots of jdm stuff and lots of stuff that isnt jdm. I wasnt trying to brag about my shit either.

Only reason I was asking is because I have hacked up things before and found out later that the part was rare or desired and I would have been better off starting from scratch or using an ebay part to hack up.

Anyways I think Im just going to use it. I finially found one (non on ebay) but came across one just like mine with a google search that linked me to i think fresh alloy.

Anyways, it dont seem that rare if his price was normal so I think Ill use it.

op, then buy a cheap downpipe and hack it up and just wait till you find out

Spending extra to keep rare parts is reasonable

you wont get shit for it, no one wants to pay anything for DP. i've been trying to sell one for 2 years now lol. No point when u can buy a new one for 30 bucks i guess.

id say go ahead and hack it up

Cool, I recon I will. I may be able to keep it somewhat normal now that I think about it but Ill have to wait untill my engine sits inside the car again.

I might be able to get away with just cutting off the top flange and replacing it with a vband flange and then making the rest of the pipe from scratch but I will see.

Thanks for the input and lack of scarscasm as some would have.

Some things are just never worth getting rid of or modding and I was wanting to make sure this wasnt one of them.

Much like this boost controller http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn40/4x4le/engine/1122070023.jpg

that so many people got rid of for the newer model that has a screen and looks just like the turbo timer above. I know this boost controller is hard to get for a decent price and seems to be saught after pretty well. Im soon going to be using a different one for some very specific reasons, however I have such a love for this one and I know I will have more projects in the future so I HAVE to keep it because I know finding another would be hard.

Anyways, thanks again for the input guys (in telling me my shit is worthless lol). Its kinda a relief though because now I dont need to buy another part, or start completly from scratch.

Theres nothing special about Thrust/Greddy shit...if anything, they are the worst of all the JDM brand (ie: Blitz and HKS). Greddy used some of the shittiest and thinnest metal on alot of their exhaust pieces like manifold, elbows and DP. They dont like to be rewelded either, for some reason, everytime they crack and you weld them back up, theyll just continually crack and break at the same spot or you'll have more cracks.
