Is this true about the 240SX SE model?

Please pardon my stupidity, im a Honda guy.
My friend is into SE-R's and he told me not to get the SE model in the 240SX becuase its All Wheel Steering?and wont drift as good? Well im picking up my 89 240 tommorow and just found out when i got my insurance paperwork back it says its an SE when we ran the vin .
Is his info true or is he feeding me **** ?
i tried to get info on it on the web, but i cant seem to find info on this car easily, and tried 240sx SE in the search and nothing.
Your help is apopreciated in my learning of a new type of car.

Do you mean the HICAS? I think they only came in 91-94 models, dont count on my word though. Maybe someone else can confirm this. Not all SE's have 4ws. i have a 89 SE and i dont have it...

False.

89 240SX/SE is not all wheel steering.

The option is called a HICAS system and it became available in 1991.

Their are 2 different SE's. Lighting and convenience group and performace group.

Performace group came with Alloy rims, stiffer spring rates, slightly larger sway bars and the lower lip and silly foam spoiler that was dealer installed...and this usually rusts the hatch out. Non spoiler hatches are better because of this. Also is the leather wrapped shifter knob. A few more things I can't think of right now.

I have not met anyone that has modded their 89 to the HICAS system...or would want to. It adds weight.

ok yea he asid something about hicas? he said to not get the se ebcuase of that , but i coudlnt find anythign other thna an se in the fastback model .
i dunno about the wing thing though, i know it had a wing at one time becuase theres holes in the trunk , and there is a foam wing in the driver compartment .
see the thing is this kid bought it so work on and had to go back to school and his parents wanted it out of the garage so i got it for a slamming deal . its basically sitting in primer, and the center console needs to go back together, he was in the process of putting the cd player in and gave up on it. he wastnt there to ask Q's on it, i looked at it and it didnt look like anything i cant work with frmo what i see. and the deal was great.
i have plans on makign this my daily driver/beater, but i want to make it a project too , but i wanna be able to get silly with this thing. i have a drag car/roadrace car, i wanta drift car now.

your friend is wrong. hicas doesnt make it an SE model. trust me if the car had hicas youd know it. nissan has a habit of sitcking stickers everywhere. plus, hicas only came in 91-93 no exceptions.

in the USA, yes. in japan you can get a HICAS s14. :p

Oh man, haha thats so true, I got vin number stickers everwhere, on the fenders, door sills, plastic undercarriage, etc etc, well atleast its all one color, silver. Dam'd if it was all different colors haha. I'd be like a mexican then, around here with the two tone paint, whateva color the car is it has yellow on it, APC stickers, and lights everywhere. dam them. Makin Nissans look bad, like they couldn't just stop with the Honda's and their trucks. huy..........

DAMM lol, didn't mean to **** people off. Well since my dad give me his old digital camera, I'll show you by what I mean in my previous post of how "MOST MEXICAN'S" fix up their cars or trucks around my area. I mean its funny cuz their cars either have more lights then a christmas tree....or lights from a christmas tree...and sometimes its both. Their car could be maroon or any other color that wouldn't match yellow, yet they would paint the stock side skirt, side mirrors, side moldings, etc yellow. I mean c'mon!?!? Where on your car is yellow or any other color that is gonna match it?! lol. Then the stickers.............man...........dam APC for selling stuff at pepboys, advance auto parts, etc. Everytime on Jimmy Carter Blvd. or around the Gwinnette area, some mexican has a big azz APC sticker on the windshield of their lil corrola, poseo, riced out honda/acura and try to rev up on me on the street. And then they try to rev up on me some after I dust them on the light, c'mon RWD power is gonna get ya, but they never learn. I guess they think their weld on muffler tip is gonna take me out......RIIIIGHHHHTTT keep trying haha. Err and another thing with the stickers, atleast make it match all one color. I mean Jap peeps have tons of stickers but its all one color, silver/gold/ reflective, but it all matches the other decals. I'm glad I dusted that v6 mustang who had the integrity to put the Skyline "GTR" emblems all over his car.

See I have no disrespect for Mexican or hispanic people, its just the majority of how they fix up their cars and trucks..........dam don't even make me tell you how they "try" to fix up their trucks Hint, a honda civic hatchback spoiler on a the bed door of a Ford F150 truck........I'll show you a pic of that. Even tho they are hard working people and I respect them alot for that, but c'mon the way they fix up cars and try to race me, thumbs down for that.

Thanks for the guys who took my post as humor and not insult. Its nothing to do with race, its just the majority of that race in my area and the way they fix their cars. I mean I'm asian, mostly Khmer/Cambodian mixed with Viet, Thai, chinese and French ( yeah lol, like where that come from lol) people always think Im something else cuz I'm a mutt.
