Hey, I've done a little bit of research and asked people that i know living in az already but non of them I ask are really into the car world much and would just like to hear from people living in az, around Phoenix/Mesa area. How are the local athorities toward modified cars? Is it like Cali where 1975 and older they don't have to pass emotions? Also herd that living outside of Phoenix and outside of Tucson and u don't commute into those cities for work that the vehicles dosen't have to pass emotions either?

Hey man I have lived in Arizona my whole life and really familiar with the emissions laws here.

1- If you have a car older then 1976 there is no smog in the Tucson / Phoenix area.

2- Tucson / Phoenix require smog only two cities in Az that do

3- If you do register your car in a outside town you wont need smog. When i lived in cali my sr20 hatch was registered here in lake havasu to avoid the Cali's communist smog laws.

4- The import world isn't that big out here really. The cops really wont bother you if you drive like a normal person. But if you are a tool you are fucked.

I hope this helps if you need anything else Pm me and i will be more then happy to talk to you over the phone.

^Not an issue. As long as your gas tank holds pressure and you pass their sniffer, the engine under the hood makes no difference to them.

My eagle talon passed with a horrible leaking rear main seal where the oil was dripping on the exhaust,My car smoked so bad when they ran it for emissions and when they pulled it forward off the rollers there was a pool of oil and I still passed =D

Haha sweet!! Thanks guys, sounds good to me. Curious also about jdm vehicles, like s15, skyline, eunos cosmo... Etc etc.. How hard is it to get them on the street?
