okay, YES i have been searching everywhere for this answer, with no luck,

But my problem is I pulled some tomei cams that the kid before but in because they were to big for stock valve components, so I went to put the stock ones back in, and when i did it everything was at TDC but when i put the stock cams in the only way the exhaust cam wouldnt sit in there flat, either the front would sit flush and the back would pop up or the other way around, a buddy of mine say the valve springs were resisting and to just slowy and evenly start tightening the cam caps on...so i did and now the notch is at about 11 oclock rather than 12, and i pulled the spark plug and it is deffinatly at TDC, and it says its at TDC on the pully too...I have no idea. and since the notch on the end of the cam is off, the sproket wont fit on there right, making the chain not go on the right tooth...its a clusterfuck of fails...please help, any ideas are helpful at this point.

oh and its on a red top sr in an s13.:wtf:

Thanks.

Did you pull the tensioner out of the side of the block to give the chain some play

no?the one where if your looking down the chain its on the left and curves up the right side? how would you be able to put it back in once you take it out? that sounds like it would help alot cause now i just need more slack to get it to reach.

If you are in front of the engine look on the left side about halfway down there Is a plate with two nuts on it. Take it out, it is spring loaded and pushes against the guides you see. Just keep upward tension on the chain so it doesnt slip a tooth on the crank.
