Like the title says I was just up at andrews afb at the firestone they have on base and got an alignment. I got on the freeway and it was still pulling left! I have a chart here and some stats that they printed out for me, I am no good with suspension so help would be great, also I have brand new tires on the front mounted on some old school Porsche rims and feeling vibrations on the steering wheel when I hit about 55.

Here are the numbers they printed for me:

Left Front: Right Front:

Camber- o.o deg. (Green) -1.3 deg. (Green)
Caster- 2.8 deg. (Highlighted red) 6.7 deg. (Green)

Toe- 0.75 deg. (Red) 0.60 (red)

Now with all of that everything that is red is BACK to green EXCEPT the front left caster! Now would that pull the car left? Looks like the rest of the numbers when it was tweeked are pretty close for front and back, left and right, BUT the caster. The number (2.8) for the caster stayed the same. So I don't know why they couldn't fix that...?

Here is what they recommended when they did the courtesy check:

2 tag lights
RF Inner & outer tire rods
Both bel low boots
2 rear + <<<<<(I can't read his handwriting)

Would the inner and outer tire rods for the right needing to be replaced push the car left??

Thanks for reading, any information would be baller! :boink:

T/C rods control the caster. Sounds like you don't have adjustable ones. The car was probably hit at one time on the left side bending the Bracket, T/C Rod and/or lower control arm.

The factory arms should only sag 0.75* in ether direction from 6.75*. 2.8* is a MAJOR deviation from that.

caster caster caster....i do alignments all the time i dont care if the caster is in the red so much but they have to be close to each other. if you have more caster the wheels will want to strighten out of a turn on their own.

you have 2 diff caster numbers that is why. your caster effects side to side pulling more than anyother angle. your car has most likely been curbed pretty good on that side before.

yeah i second that about the caster and for the shaking have you checked your balance on the tires, i mean 50mph is when a lot of cars start to shake.. well if im wrong someone please correct me

Haha...why would you go on base for car maintenance shit. Guess you like getting ripped off compared to out in town.

That's what we are talking about. They control your caster.

But, to be that far out he has to have some stuff bent.

Yeah the shop that did that should give you your money back. Your car is un-alignable until you get that fixed, and they know that. They just wanted to take your money.

DAMN! lol Thanks guys for the info! Pretty pissed, IDK who to trust, and I sure as hell don't know everything about cars so would be difficult to work on my OWN daily driver!

Your frame might be bent as well, but we'll hope not and that its a tension rod. It would make more sense since your caster is fucked that its the tension rod, but its still possible.

If you have a bent *TIE* rod or tie rod end, not tire rod.. this would also be possible. If you have a bent tie rod, someone fucked something up and curbed the car, etc.

have you upgraded your tension rods yet? if not some that are really badly broken could allow the caster to go way out. mine were so bad i could feel it pulling different ways through corners.

lol yeah. Something is bent. Buy new tension rods. Should help. Unless your car has been in an accident and the frames bent to shit. No fixing it then.

If you drove your car for a while before the alignment the tires might be severly worn causing it to pull since they wore in to the unaligned specs

Just a thought. but your probablem sounds a little more sever than that

my car was crashed in the front left side. So my camber is -2.7 on that side and the right is -.7. And car still pulls to the rights. Thanks to whoever crashed mine -_____-

get adjustable tension rods and get it aligned again. you'll be fine. it is not the best way to adjust caster but it is cheaper than buying caster/camber plate which will cost around $400 bucks. And yes caster is the only problem. Camber only affects tire wear (in daily driving conditions)
