On my 89, my owners manual says my rims are 6.5 inch so I took one off and measured it. It also has an astrix...performance option only.
So..here are the pics..

16 oz tall boy measures 6 1/8 inches..
Here is a pic with it...and the front side next post. Notice all the extra space on the front side before the lip.

Looks closer to a 7" to me...but I will go along with 6.5 It seems much wider than a 6" to me..I know I am measuring inside the lip measurements..

Sorry it took so many posts...but I could only upload them one at a time.
My Point is that it is wider than 6 inchs. Since I want to go with a lower profile but keep my diameter close to the same for speedo and geometry reasons...and a wider tire, based on these particular teardrops, do you feel a 225 55/15 will work??
Thats all for now..
(gotta love the beer can in there hehehe..)

I just happen to have some unmounted teardrop alloys sitting in my closet right now. Everything I have ever heard said they were 6.5" and the pic seems to confirm.
That said.... I would never run anything wider than 205 on that wheel, unless you were wanting the massive sidewall flex of drag slick or something. If you think about it, you will get much better response, due to less sidewall material from a tire that is like this

rather than like this

Isn't this kind of stuff supposed to be reserved for PM? ...and what's up with the topic (subject) line not having anything to do with the content?! :aw: :aw:

check the brochures for 89-90 cars.. "6jjx15 alloy (part of optional SE Sport Package)".
everything everywhere says they are 6". I used to have a set on my 90.. a 205 fit with a bit of buldge.
as a matter of fact there is NO OEM s13 wheel that is over 6" wide.
you have to measure from the INNER lip,
