wats up guys ive come to zilvia to ask for help since i have tried everything and cant figure this out!:wtc:

so my engine blew out a while ago...i went ahead and bought a bare block, rebuilt head, full gasket set,and a new timing chain kit.

so i put everything together and it ran great..super quiet...slowly it started to rattle from the lifters and timing chain...it got louder and louder.so now i have an annoying timing chain/lifter rattle. so far i have took off the timing chain cover and checked the 2 oil seals...checked timing chain and its not loose, valves are not loose...removed oil pan to check the oil pick up o-ring..all is good...the only think im not sure about is the oil filter bracket,i didnt have a gasket so i used rtv..it doesnt leak but im not sure if that could have caused a problem?

anyways im pretty much asking for anyyy input you guys have
your help is greatly appreciated=] thanks!!!

Sounds like an oil pressure issue to me. Possibly install an aftermarket oil pressure guage that will tell you what the actual oil pressure levels are. Either way even if that doesn't help you figure out what is wrong with the car you cant go wrong with it...

I had the same problem. I had a ticking noise. Didnt bother me cuz it want loud till today. It started to tick real bad. Took out the valve cover and found out that one of the valve springs cracked.

Did you try cleaning the timing chain tensioner. It can get all mucked up with oil and freeze up, causing the timing chain to rattle. Try taking it apart and cleaning it with degreaser, and fully compress it a few times to be sure it isnt frozen.

imcunner-how visible was the crack?the sound is coming from the chain and the valves..so im still guessing its a oil pressure problem.

rabboni-dammit i just had the timing cover off but didnt bother checking the tensioner=[ its brand new tho do u still think it might have gotten clogged?

its not really that visible. i had to look closely at ever single spring. and found one that was cracked. it was the opposite side of the chain.

Might be your lifters got stock..try to pull out the rocker arms and clean the lifters or if you have a spare complete rocker arms with lifters on it...swap it.
Also try thicker oil or add some lucas...
