I'm finally getting around to finishing my t25 turbo install on my s13. It started today and ran like crap, but i still have to put the tuned ecu in.

i do have a couple of questions.

1) i notice a few air lines won't be used since i'm using a smic. do i need to delete those?

2) i'm really not sure what the unit is called but i've noticed on all the ka-t engine shots that no one has it.. its the box on the left side that has a hose that clamps to the factory air box. for those that know what i'm refering to.. do i need to reuse any/all of this unit or do i delete it?

some of the old hoses that were attached to the old intake tube leave me confused to if i need to delete them or what.

i've tried searching but nothing really answers my questions. so any help for a noob would be great.

Number 1 quit running the engine without putting the tuned ecu in, and absolutely don't drive it that way. Do you mean the charcoal canister, round can with vac hoses on the top? If so you can either leave it or pull it and cap the lines. Won't hurt anything.

i only ran the car long enough to check for oil leaks and to move the car to where i keep it till i'm able to finish everything.

i'm refering what the little harness plugs into off that box. it has two little hoses that run from the intake manifold to it. it's bolted to the chassis with a black bracket. i'd just take a pic of it but my camera is shot. but if i don't need it, i'll just reroute the two that go to it and cap the others.

i'll see what i can do about borrowing a camera long enough to take a pic or two of the thing. i noticed when i looked at it earlier that the ic outlet on the turbo won't allow me to use it cuz it's a tight fit due to how the unit/bracket is made.

^^this is what i was refering to. i know the pic is crappy but the camera isn't the best.

but i went ahead just rerouted the hoses that went to it and blocked off the egr stuff.

i got the tuned ecu in, wired up the n60 maf and got the hoses block and hooked up where needed. problem i have now is that the car starts, but won't hold idle and dies shortly after starting or immediately dies if i try to give any throttle at all.

i'm thinking i may have a vac leak somewhere.

suggestions on what to check?

thanks.
