ok, so over the hollidays i blew my headgasket.. shitty but w/e...
now in every single install the crank pully is suppose to be on the 2nd notch from the left... but when i took mine apart(lining up the cam gears) TDC ends up being the 2nd from the right notch.
so whats going on here?... i put it all back together and it turns over but no start, i believe the CAS is the issue(didnt line it up properly)
should i line it up 2nd from the right and then take it out, line it up and put it in... or is something else wrong and do i have to tear it apart?
thanks

just reset it at TDC, there was an orange mark on the crank pully indicating to use the 2nd from the RIGHT, so idk wtf is going on with my car..
neways.. reset TDC, made sure cam gears were lined up with chain links... pulled CAS, re-alligned it, and still no start
when the motor got that hot... it melted and fucked up the coil packs(to the point that i had to file plastic under the valve cover to make them slide out)
should i get some new ones? turns out i have to order a chain tensoner neways so its going to be down for the count so i can order other parts while its setting there

When you set TDC did you make sure the cylinder 1 lobes were pointing away from the center of the motor?
When I swapped my cams out I didn't pay attention to the CAS and it wouldn't fire at all and it was barely off. Took that back off, lined it up between the two dots when I put it in then turned it slightly to the right to align it to the yellow dot and the car fires up immediately.
Moving from the second dot on the right to the second dot on the left will have minimal actual movement of the cams themselves (enough to cause some idleing / starting issues, though). Try setting it at TDC (2nd from the left, assuring the cylinder 1 lobes are pointing outwards) and then checking the CAS again.
I just ordered a new tensioner / gasket with the newer model. Total was around $80 from the dealer and had it in 4 days. Here's the part numbers if this helps:
