So i was looking up the word kosher(yeah i know whatever) and an article on wiki claimed giraffe meat was kosher.
So I look for some and come across this website: Exotic Meats USA ® (http://www.exoticmeatsandmore.com/) and they sell some crazy meats there.
So my question is whats the craziest meat, that you have tried? Mine was bison and ostrich burgers.
The bison was delicious but the ostrich was too different for me.

I've had bison and ostrich burgers, they're good.

I've had venison and elk stews before, its hard to tell if there's any difference since its in a stew, but I enjoyed that too.

having african parents means I dont try exotic meats as much as I get to eat exotic parts of regular farm animals....

But I have had venison, squirrel, snake, and various small birds.

Squirrel tasted similar to venison or goat in that it was a bit gamey but not overwhelming. snake was like chicken almost but also like fish, and the birds were more delicious the smaller they were, haha.

bison is great, but is it really exotic? i think the grocery stores around here have bison.

Are Bison and Ostrich really "exotic," though?
I mean (and not that I've eaten beef in 11 years), I can get Bison at my neighborhood grocery store and I can get ostrich at Fuddruckers when I can be bothered to go there.

I've had the basics, for the South.

Alligator tail
Rattlesnake
Bear
Buffalo
Elk
Moose

Nothing too crazy in my mind.

Damn, now I'm hungry for 'Gator Tail again.
With the number of swamps around here, it's pretty plentiful.
"Mom and Pop Diners" sell 'Gator Bites. Basically like popcorn chicken, only it's alligator tail meat, breaded and served with various dipping sauces.

Snake... Almost like fish... and I do not eat any sea food
Venison... Love it! The vietnamese lounges I go to usually have this on the menu.
Rabbit... Taste like chicken
Baby Boar... Taste like chicken

Damn I want to try the lion or the bear leg they have on that site. Ill40 where the hell did you get bald eagle neck?? I would think that would be more illegal then lion meat here in the states.

Well its not like you can go to any deli/supermarket and get it. Usually more upscale ones. I guess bison is not that exotic, but ostrich is still pretty exotic in a way. The lion meat on the site looks suspect to me...

I wonder if we could ask for the picture of the lion it came from so we can know it's legit

You gotta be shitting me... Lol

I've never really had anything "exotic", but I've had a few of the usual non-beef/chicken/pork stuff. Bison, ostrich, gator, venison, dove. It's all quite delicious. I have some jalepeno-cheese deer sausage in the freezer. It is GOOD.
Gator meat is fantastic. When prepped like a chicken nugget, it's tough to tell that it's not chicken. But as sausage, or chopped up and grilled, it has a uniquely delicious flavor.
Ostrich meat is great for burgers, and as jerky, tastes way better than beef, IMO.

Well growing up in the islands I would've eaten just the same as you guy but my dad hunted on the weekend for sport and 'wild' meat.
Everday meats are chicken, beef, pork, duck, goat & fish(its and island what do you expect)
*red deer
*boar
*armadillo
*agouti
*lappe(paca)
*iguana
There are others but I haven't had it and leaving in north america now Szechuan chicken is as exotic as it gets.

Most of the game meats (venison, boar, moccasin etc)
Snake
Grasshopper
Guinea pig (in ecaudor)
Various lizards and insects here and there.

Other than some game meats, I'd rather stick to beef, chicken, seafood.

Yea I have on accident haha. I spent some time in Vietnam volunteering with a joint replacement surgery group last year. I ate some dog at a 'thank you' dinner set up by some baller Vietnamese dudes that served it to us without telling us what it was. It was pretty good, not gunn a lie, nothing special though, I think it would have tasted similar to beef with a similar spicing. The weirdest things I ate there were frogs (not great) and duck fetus (gross as fuck, I could feel the beak). Overall food in Vietnam was delicious. It's a beautiful country and the people are great.

Guinea Pig is supposed to be really delicious.

Here's everything that I've had (normal stuff excluded, of course). Not all of it is "exotic" per se. At least one was illegal in the country where I ate it though, lol.

-Rattlesnake
-Horse
-Venison
-Whale
-Alligator
-Elk
-Jellyfish
-Cricket
-Dog
-Boar
-Ortolan
-Cobra
-Frog
-Rabbit
-Moose
-Bison
-Ostrich

Ostrich is incredible, better than beef IMO. I'm trying to find an Ostrich farm stateside that will send me cuts of whatever I want. Hard to find it on the bone most places.

After all that though, fish is still my favorite thing to eat. I think Monkfish Liver (Ankimo) is probably the world's most perfect food. It's like ocean foie gras.

I personally didn't enjoy my fried guinea pig that much.
Tasted closest to rabbit, or second closest to chicken.
Meat was tender, but very very greasy (whether this is b/c of the quality of the meat or preparation, idk).
I'd take a well prepared fried chicken, esp thighs, any-day.

I got the shits for 4 days afterwords.
Mentally, I didn't feel entirely comfy eating a large fried rodent, but that's just me being not open minded enough.
Still, I don't regret trying something different as long as it's not dog or human.

i'd eat dog. and horse. not like, every day, though.

I've had all types of meats and weird food when I travel abroad to different places. I make it my mission to eat whatever the locals deem edible. As long as they're eating it, so am I, except for Mercury in the Philippines. As long as they're reasonably safe, I'm going to try it. These are a couple of meat that stands out.

Dog - Had it numerous times with all kinds of seasonings and different cooking styles. It's not bad, a lot of people in Vietnam love it, especially when it's a dish served while drinking.
Cat - Tastes pretty good, it has a certain smell and spice to it. I can tell it's cat meat without being told.
Rice field rodents - These are some huge ass rats, tastes fatty, like pork.
Bees & Larvae - Don't like it, very fat and has that wood smell to it.
Cobra and all kinds of different snakes.
Porcupine, wild boars, turtles, balut (baby duck eggs), bloody pizzas (coagulated duck blood), all kinds of wild birds and alot of weird plants and insects (spiders).
At one time, I saw this fucker cook a stew of worms, some kind of worm that's similar to nightcrawlers. I tried to eat, but gagged. Never trying that again.
