Well I am not a owner of one yet, but presently I own a 90 Prelude, and selling it to buy a beater for over winter, and will be grabbing a 95 240sx in the spring. I always loved them and it is the only car I would take over my style Prelude. As for modding the 240 when I get it, I still don't know what to do, cause I'm not used to dealing with a car with a big aftermarket unlike the 3rd gen prelude that own now.

I got a few questions to ask about the 95 240sx. Seeing that I'm in Canada things might be different but I was curious.

-What models are there in 95? I think SE and LE, anymore and what features do each have?

-With some cars there is usually a "common" problem, is there one with the 95 240sx? and also what would it be?

Thanks
Kevin

Welcome to Zilvia!~

It really all depends on what you want your car to do for you. Examples are, do you want to just have a daily driver to have fun working on..or do you want to set up the suspention for drifting, do you want to drag race it or ralley race it? Is it going to be Show? or Show and go?

This is an idea of modification order per desire that some here go with.

To drift:

Lots of money in extra tires and rims, suspention changes, frame stiffening, good drivers seat, LSD diff, and getting to know your limits and the cars limits. You do not need to swap the engine out to an SRDET to drift. All of the above is far more important FIRST

Street:

Looks (rims tires) engine upgrades, paint, detail. Swap is nice for street as well as any upgrades to the engine to increase the Horsepower. Suspention upgrades can come later if you are not driving hard in corners. We do not recommend you ever street race. Some of us are anal about it.

You will find the search engine to be a large help here. Many subjects have been gone over more than 20 times each in vast detail. If someone tells you something...do the search and see what the general experience has been. Some folks say that an RB26DETT cannot go in our cars. I have seen it with my own two eyes and took pictures. Anything is possable with time and cash. Putting a few thousand miles on the car before doing any kind of engine swap is highly recommended.

As far as the 95's go...it is just convience and features more than the drive train. Look in the S-14 log of features in socal site and look at the differences.

Thanks, well the car is gonna be for some go and looks, IE, just your regular bolt ons, and a body kit, rims etc. I'll be driving the car everyday (except in winter)...As for the RB swap it was recently done in one of the magazines if I stand correct recently. But thanks again.

Yep...their are 3 different RB engines that go in our cars with various levels of difficulty..no one said an RB26Dett is easy but I have seen it in person.

As far as the body kit stuff goes...do what you feel looks good to you. A lot of people here do not care for a "riced out" look, many preferring to just do the front lip..or keep it stock look. generally, you will find spoilerless (rear) 240SX's preferable. they just look so clean and if you are not driving over 160KPH...they are mainly cosmetics. Their are many many rims out there. too many to catalogue actually. The offset issue is very well documented in the search.

One of the most fun places to hang out at zilivia is the events and meet-ups forum. You will find a lot of old dead links in some of the archives...especially of videos..but if you have some good videos to share or pictures...do bring them on.Their are a few current Honda drivers here and some of us will kinda diss Hondas but they are very fine cars in their own right...some of which make monster horsepower and some are drag kings on the strip. (for street legal)

Just have fun...today is slower because so many people on these boards are at events as we speak...some huge ones as well.

South Florida has nothing happening today...except I will go out and do some drifting later this afternoon around 7PM and flogg the car some learning and honing skills at much higher speeds than ever tried. Then it is the grill, the weekly oil change and beer drinking. Feels great to not have to work tomorrow!!

Always good to have a 'nadian on the board. Welcome!

Youll find the 240 to be a great car. I dont own a s14, but my 91 fastback has its buggs. The headlights being one, but since you have stationary headlamps, you wont have that problem.

Sound like you have your stuff in order and know where you want to go with you car. Keep it simple, sounds good.

Good luck, ask good questions, use the search and dont talk to James
